Today (February 15), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics announced the admission method for full-time university programs in 2024. Accordingly, the school continues to maintain 6 stable admission methods.
Method 1 is direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (1% of the target according to the training program).
Method 2 is to consider candidates who have graduated from foreign high school programs and have international certificates (1-3% of the target depending on the training program).
In particular, for candidates with Vietnamese nationality, candidates with one of the following international diplomas/certificates will be considered: International Baccalaureate (IB) with a score of 26 points or higher; Cambridge International Examinations A-Level, UK (hereinafter referred to as A-Level certificate) with a score from C to A; BTEC (Business & Technical Education Council, UK) Level 3 Extended Diploma with a score from C to A.
Candidates who have graduated from a foreign high school program and have one of the following certificates: IELTS certificate of 6.0 or higher; TOEFL iBT certificate of 73 points or higher; SAT certificate (Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) with each part of the test from 500 points or higher; ACT certificate (American College Testing) of 20 points (scale of 36) or higher.
For candidates with a nationality other than Vietnamese and who graduated from high school abroad, foreign candidates registering to study a program in English must meet the English language requirements of that program. Foreign candidates registering to study a program in Vietnamese must meet the Vietnamese language requirements according to current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Method 3 is to consider excellent students (40-50% of the quota according to the training program, 20% of the quota for the Vietnamese language program and the Mekong international bachelor program). The conditions for registration are excellent students, good conduct in grades 10, 11 and semester 1 of grade 12 of the high school program under the regular education form, graduating from high school in 2024.
Admission score is the total score converted from 4 criteria, including 1 mandatory criterion and 3 optional criteria. Mandatory criteria include: average academic performance in grade 10, grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12 according to regulations. Optional criteria: Students have an international English certificate within the time limit (as of the date of application for admission to excellent students) equivalent to IELTS from 6.0 or TOEFL iBT from 73 or higher; Students who won prizes (first, second, third) in the provincial and city level (centrally affiliated) high school excellent student selection exams in the subjects: math, physics, chemistry, English, literature, information technology; Students of specialized/gifted high schools.
Method 4 is to consider the learning process according to the subject combination (applying 20-30% of the quota; for the ISB BBus talented bachelor program and the ISB ASEAN Co-op bachelor program, 40-50% of the quota).
Students with a combined average score of 6.5 or higher for grades 10, 11 and semester 1 of grade 12 of the high school program under the regular education system and graduating from high school. Candidates applying for admission with a foreign language combination of German, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian or French must have an IELTS certificate >=5.5 or TOEFL iBT from 62 points or higher.
The admission score is the total score converted from 4 criteria, including 1 mandatory criterion and 3 non-mandatory criteria. The mandatory criterion is the average score of the subject combination registered for admission calculated according to the year of grade 10, grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12 according to regulations. Non-mandatory criteria: Students with an international English certificate within the time limit (as of the date of submitting the application for admission according to the subject combination) equivalent to IELTS from 6.0 or TOEFL iBT from 73 or higher; Students who won prizes (first, second, third) in the provincial and city level (centrally affiliated) high school excellent student selection exams in the subjects: math, physics, chemistry, English, literature, information technology; Students of specialized/gifted high schools.
Method 5 is admission based on the results of the first round of capacity assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2024 (10% of the target).
Method 6 is admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam (remaining quota).
For early admission methods, the school plans to open an online registration portal from April 2 to May 10, including: admission of candidates who have graduated from foreign high school programs and have international certificates; admission of excellent students; admission of the learning process according to subject groups; admission based on the results of the competency assessment test.
In 2024, the school will open two new integrated applied technology programs: ArtTech (technology, art) in the information technology industry, intelligent control and automation in the artificial intelligence industry. In addition, the school will re-enroll in the customs - foreign trade management program (in the tax major) at the Ho Chi Minh City campus and the tax program at the Vinh Long campus.
In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics will enroll 56 training programs in 11 fields including: management, business, economics, languages, technology and applied design.
