Proposal to build a riverside park from Ba Son bridge to Thu Thiem bridge

(Dan Tri) - A 1.1km park running along the Saigon River from Ba Son Bridge to Thu Thiem Bridge, with a scale of 10 hectares, is proposed to be implemented immediately to serve people during the 2025 Lunar New Year.

After the Saigon River bank (from Ba Son Bridge to the roof of the Saigon River tunnel) was completed and renovated into a square, the Technical Infrastructure Development Center (Thu Duc City People's Committee) has just proposed to continue investing and renovating the Saigon River bank (from Ba Son Bridge to Thu Thiem Bridge) into a park.

The renovation is expected to be carried out through socialization and completed before the Lunar New Year 2025.

This idea aims to improve environmental sanitation, create a new playground, attract people and tourists to visit and entertain at the park complex and riverside square.

According to the Thu Duc City Technical Infrastructure Development Center, the park (from Ba Son Bridge to Thu Thiem Bridge), in Thu Thiem Ward, is expected to be named Creative Park, with a length along the riverbank of about 1.1m and a height of 100m-120m along the bank.

The Creative Park will be implemented on an existing area of 10 hectares, currently the area is natural vegetation, the terrain is uneven, the terrain gradually decreases towards the Saigon River bank. Some locations have low-lying terrain, flooded, diverse natural vegetation mixed with weeds, trash and debris.

After completion, the park is expected to have the following main items: Event area; central park area; riverside jogging/biking path; operator and utility building; parking lot.

Thu Duc City Technical Infrastructure Development Center assessed that the park has a prime location, facing the Saigon River, opposite Ba Son Park. After renovation, the park will create beauty for the entire central area of District 1 and the intersection of Thi Nghe Canal and Saigon River.

This area is currently vacant land and can be deployed immediately to serve people during the Lunar New Year.

At the end of 2023, the park square along the Saigon River (from Ba Son Bridge to Saigon River Tunnel) was inaugurated and became the venue for many major events in Ho Chi Minh City.

This area is about 20 hectares wide, about 600 meters long with a total cost of about 90 billion VND, invested from socialized sources.
