The national high school exam for the 2023-2024 school year will take place on January 5-6 with more than 5,800 candidates from 70 participating units. The exam content is based on the 2006 general education program. Except for Literature, History and Geography, the remaining subjects will take place over two days.
This is the first year the exam is held under new regulations, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training in October 2023. Accordingly, the maximum number of candidates for each subject is 10, with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi being 20.
Nearly 3,360 candidates won prizes, accounting for 55.79%, an increase of 6% compared to last year but still lower than the 60% of total candidates as in the new regulations.
Candidates have the right to appeal their exam within 15 days from today. Candidates who participate but do not win a prize will be given a certificate to keep their information.
The Ministry of Education and Training said the national competition for excellent students aims to encourage and motivate teachers and students to develop their creativity, contributing to promoting and improving the quality of education. At the same time, this is to discover talented students, thereby creating a source of training, realizing the goal of training talents for the country.
As planned, in March, the Ministry will organize an exam to select students for the 2024 regional and international Olympic teams in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics.
