Math problems are 70% recognition, 30% application.

Regarding the math exam this morning, according to information shared by Mr. Duong Buu Loc, math specialist of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the math exam will maintain the same structure as in 2022. In which, the level of knowledge is 70% recognition and understanding; 30% application and high application.

Specifically, the math exam consists of 8 questions, of which 7 are basic knowledge and one is about plane geometry. Of which, questions 1 and 2 are familiar knowledge about graphs, Viet's theorem, and conditions for the existence of solutions to equations. Questions 3 to 7 are problems applying knowledge learned in the program to solve problems related to reality. Of which, there will be 1-2 questions at an advanced level. Question 8 is a plane geometry problem consisting of 3 small problems. Of which, 2 are at a basic level, the remaining problem is highly differentiated.

About 96,000 candidates will take the math test within 120 minutes and the test time will end at 10:00.

Candidates who register for 3 wishes to enter grade 10 will usually complete the grade 10 exam, after taking the math exam.

About 8,000 candidates who registered for specialized and integrated schools and classes will continue to take the specialized and integrated subject exams in the afternoon of the same day with a test time of 150 minutes.

Math will be the last compulsory subject in the 10th grade exam.

What do candidates need to know after the exam?

After candidates complete the 10th grade entrance exam this afternoon (June 7), tomorrow (June 8), the Department of Education and Training will start marking the exam. Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Department mobilized about 2,500 officials and teachers to participate in this work. Of these, 700 people participated in the marking committee and 1,835 officials and teachers participated in marking the exam.

In each examination, marking and re-examination area of ​​the examination council, items must be arranged to store and preserve information receiving and transmitting equipment of those performing their duties. These items must be sealed and monitored by police officers. The Department of Education and Training informed that the examination board agreed on the grading scale and answers according to regulations. Each exam is graded in two independent rounds by two examiners from two different examination groups.
