The Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development informed that on June 8, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sent a diplomatic note to the General Department of Customs of China regarding the completion of a number of procedures to export live seafood and fruits from Vietnam to China.

According to the Official Note of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development recently sent a working delegation to work with the people's government and customs departments of two provinces: Guangxi and Yunnan (China) from May 29 to June 2, to promote cooperation and increase agricultural trade turnover between the two countries through the gateways of provinces sharing land borders.

Based on the working content, the working group agreed with the customs of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces (China) to coordinate and propose to the General Department of Customs of China a number of contents. In particular, promptly complete the procedures for signing the "Protocol between the General Department of Customs of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam on food safety requirements, quarantine and inspection of aquatic products imported and exported between Vietnam and China"; consider adding a number of fruits, species, aquatic products and a number of enterprises permitted to export aquatic products to China that have been inspected by Vietnamese authorities to meet the requirements according to the provisions of Orders 248 and 249 of the Chinese Customs; allow the export of live aquatic products through border gates in Yunnan province to reduce customs clearance pressure between border gates and create maximum favorable conditions for enterprises.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested the General Department of Customs of China to direct the customs departments of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces to increase exchanges of professional procedures; update information to promptly handle problems, improve customs clearance capacity; organize annual rotating meetings in November every year between the customs departments of these two provinces and the competent agencies of Vietnam...
