Proposal to revoke the license of American International School, quickly transfer the school to students

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training decided to suspend the operations of the American International School AISVN from July 1 due to failure to ensure teaching conditions. However, the school has repeatedly informed parents that it is improving operating conditions and will reopen soon. "The school will start the new school year in August and will notify you three days before the start date," said a notice sent to parents by Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em, President of the American International School Council, on August 9.

During a meeting with the American International School on August 20, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training Nguyen Bao Quoc affirmed that AISVN is not yet qualified to resume operations. He also requested that the school not organize any educational activities as prescribed during the suspension period. No surveys are allowed to be conducted to determine whether students will continue to study at the school or not.

According to information provided by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the number of teachers at AISVN American International School is currently only 28. AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company has not yet provided documents proving sufficient financial resources as prescribed to ensure the maintenance and development of educational activities.

As of August 24, more than 300 students of the school have confirmed their transfer online but have not yet completed the enrollment steps, while about 700 students have not yet confirmed their transfer.

This afternoon, August 28, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will guide parents of students at AISVN American International School on school transfer procedures, in time for the new school year.
