What's in the 'hot' 6th grade entrance exam for Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City?

According to the plan of District 7 People's Committee, Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School will enroll 500 students in grade 6 for the 2024-2025 school year.

The survey will be conducted at two locations: Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School and Vo Thi Sau Primary School. These locations will conduct the survey on the same day, at the same time, with the same topic under the responsibility of the Department of Education and Training.

Content of the 6th grade entrance exam

All candidates will take the test in 90 minutes, the test consists of two parts:

Multiple choice section : Students answer 20 questions in English about their understanding of natural sciences, social sciences and common sense (30 minutes).

Essay section (60 minutes): English proficiency test (reading, writing - doing the test in English); math and logical thinking ability test (doing the test in Vietnamese); reading comprehension and writing ability test (doing the test in Vietnamese).

Candidates and conditions for admission: Students who have completed primary school in District 7 or completed primary school outside the district but currently reside in District 7 and wish to study grade 6 at Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School; Students who have a score of 9 or higher on the final exam of grade 5 in Vietnamese and math.

Two steps to register for the survey

According to District 7 People's Committee, the survey registration process includes two steps:

Step 1 : Parents register online from 8:00 a.m. on May 25 to 5:00 p.m. on May 29 at the primary school admissions page https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn/khaosatlop6quan7; enter the required information, download and print the "Application form for the 6th grade admissions survey" according to the instructions.

Parents prepare the application and attached documents, including: application form (printed after online registration), 2 4cm x 6cm photos (taken within 1 year, ID photo style, full name, date of birth, place of birth clearly written on the right side).

Certified copy of grade 5 report card or certificate of final exam scores in math and Vietnamese in grade 5 (copy), photocopy of English certificate (if any), photocopy of IT certificate (if any) to submit according to the announced schedule.

Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School does not charge any fees when students register to take the survey.

Step 2: Parents submit their application for the 6th grade survey directly from May 31 to June 3 at Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School.

Students took the survey on June 15. Survey results are expected to be announced on June 23.

District 7 People's Committee said that in case students have the same score and exceed the enrollment quota, they will be considered in order of priority: with English certificate from highest to lowest level.
