(Dan Tri) - Some high-quality public and private schools in Hanoi apply a policy of adding extra points to grade 6 for candidates with foreign language certificates and achievements in prestigious online competitions.
In previous years, the TOEFL primary English certificate was used as a priority admission condition by Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School (Cau Giay District, Hanoi), Nam Tu Liem Secondary School (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi), and Thanh Xuan Secondary School (Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) in the 6th grade admission exam.
Specifically, Nguyen Tat Thanh School adds 1-2 points to the total admission score for candidates who score 228-230/230 on the TOEFL primary.
Meanwhile, Nam Tu Liem and Thanh Xuan schools will consider this certificate for candidates with equal admission scores at the bottom of the list.
The same is true for the Cambridge Flyers certificate. With 15/15 shields, candidates can be admitted directly to Doan Thi Diem, Le Quy Don, FPT Cau Giay, and MV Lomonosov schools.

Two high-quality public schools Thanh Xuan and Nam Tu Liem also consider Cambridge certificates for candidates with the same admission scores.
In addition to these two English certificates, online competitions such as Violympic, Trạng Nguyên, Internet English Olympiad (IOE), American Mathematics Competition (AMC), Asian Mathematics Competition (AIMO), Math, Science and English Olympiad (ASMO)... are on the priority list for admission and scholarship of Doan Thi Diem School and Le Quy Don School.
Competitions organized or co-organized by the education sector that are included in the list of competitions that are awarded points by Nguyen Tat Thanh School include: Hanoi City Youth Informatics, Hanoi City Youth and Children's Creativity, World Team Math Championship (WMTC). The bonus points are 1-2 points.
Meanwhile, Nam Tu Liem School considers secondary criteria such as achievements in Young Informatics competitions, Phu Dong Sports Festival and other cultural and artistic competitions organized by the education sector.
Chu Van An Secondary School (Long Bien District, Hanoi) adds 0.5-2 points to candidates who win prizes in official competitions on culture, arts, and sports organized by the Department of Education and Training or the Ministry of Education and Training; international, national, and city-level cultural, arts, and sports playgrounds; Hanoi City Youth Informatics Competition and the English Olympic competition on the internet.
The only secondary school that does not add points for any certificates or awards, but only uses the results of the competency assessment test for admission is Foreign Language Secondary School.
