Thu Duc district announces entrance exam questions for grade 6.

Accordingly, the entrance exam for 6th grade in the 2024-2025 school year will be used for admission to 6th grade at Hoa Lu Secondary School, Binh Tho Secondary School, and Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, head of the Education and Training Department of Thu Duc City, the survey was designed in two parts:

The multiple-choice section (in English) has a time limit of 30 minutes. Students answer 20 multiple-choice questions on natural sciences , social sciences, and general life skills.

The essay section, with a time limit of 60 minutes, covers mathematics and logical reasoning; reading comprehension and essay writing; and English.

Mr. Nguyen added: "The entrance exam for grade 6 ensures adherence to the knowledge and skills standards of the 2006 General Education Program, is close to the 2018 General Education Program, focuses on applying learned knowledge and skills to solve practical problems, and has a differentiating effect on students."

The test question compilers selected materials that are quite familiar and relatable to students. These include local education content, specifically topics related to Thu Duc City in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general.

"Generally, the exam requires students to have the ability to apply knowledge, skills, and reasoning abilities. These are abilities that are cultivated and honed through the learning process, not just through 'exam preparation' overnight," Mr. Nguyen emphasized.

The results of the 6th grade entrance exam will be announced on June 22nd.

Reportedly, 2,900 students registered to take the entrance exam for 6th grade at Hoa Lu Secondary School, Binh Tho Secondary School, and Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School. These schools implement an advanced integration model. The candidates took the exam on the morning of June 15, 2024.

According to the plan, the results of the entrance exam for grade 6 are expected to be announced on June 22nd.

The admission quotas are as follows:

Tran Quoc Toan 1 Junior High School is recruiting 9 classes of 6th grade (including at least 4 integrated English classes) with 315 students.

Hoa Lu Secondary School: recruiting 11 Grade 6 classes (including at least 2 integrated English classes) with 385 students.

Binh Tho Secondary School: recruiting 8 classes of 6th grade (including at least 3 integrated English classes) with 280 students.
