Thailand becoming the host of the 2025 World Cup helps the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to be promoted to receive the ticket for the 3 best Asian teams in the 2023 Asian Championship. This is the first time in history that Vietnamese women's volleyball has won a ticket to the World Cup, where the 32 best teams are present. Previously, in July, the Vietnamese U.20 women's volleyball team also excellently won a ticket to the 2025 World Cup for the U.21 age group.
Vietnam women's volleyball team wins ticket to world championship for first time
As a major contributor to bringing the U.20 team and the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to the big sea, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared that this is the effort of the whole team. Now is the time for the U.20 team and the Vietnamese women's team to be strongly invested in order to hope to compete well in the World Cup arena. Strong investment in Vietnamese women's volleyball is the desire of experts and fans, however, as admitted by the General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation Le Tri Truong, the budget for investing in volleyball is limited, requiring more cooperation from many sides.
Vietnam women's volleyball team must actively prepare
For example, the U.20 Vietnam team disbanded after the U.20 Asian Championship, and the athletes were returned to their clubs while they needed long-term training and regular international competition to improve. Even the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will stop training after the VTV Cup because there is no plan to train or compete from now until the end of 2024. Meanwhile, according to the proposal from the coaching staff, in order to have smooth gameplay and overcome weaknesses, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team needs long-term training and competition with strong opponents. If there is no good preparation right now, the Vietnamese team will find it difficult to avoid heavy losses at the 2025 World Cup.
Mr. Le Tri Truong said that after the VTV Cup, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, the volleyball department of the Department of Sports and Physical Training, and the coaching staff of the Vietnam volleyball teams will have a meeting to summarize, evaluate, and plan for the next stage.
In the final match of the VTV Cup 2024 volleyball tournament that took place last night, the Vietnamese team could not create a surprise when they lost to Korabelka Club (Russia) with a score of 0-3, receiving second place with a reward of 7,000 USD.
