Recently, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Public Security has synchronously deployed measures and professional work to combat and destroy many large-scale and complex gambling rings, dens, and criminal groups across the country.
The professional units also regularly exchange and coordinate with the functional units of the Ministry of Information and Communications to proactively review, detect and block websites, links and social network accounts that advertise and organize gambling in cyberspace. The results of these activities have contributed to repelling and preventing the complex activities of gambling crimes, limiting the consequences of economic damage and social consequences, and maintaining security and order in cyberspace.
However, recently, the activities of this type of crime have become increasingly sophisticated, constantly changing access domain names, using server systems located abroad to avoid detection, tracing, and prevention by functional units.
The subjects used social networking platforms, especially Facebook, to post advertisements about online gambling activities. Some subjects also spread false "denunciations" about the authorities' efforts to combat and handle "websites" and gambling rings.
This is essentially malicious, false information aimed at attracting public opinion, attacking and discrediting functional units for the purpose of advertising gambling websites and lines.
Faced with the above situation, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention is currently coordinating with functional units to verify and trace subjects who spread information advertising online gambling activities and false "denunciations" to strictly handle them according to the provisions of law.
At the same time, it is recommended that people strictly comply with legal regulations, raise awareness and consciousness about the consequences and harms of online gambling crimes; be vigilant against tricks and activities that entice and entice people to participate in organizing online gambling activities.
In case of detecting suspicious subjects related to advertising activities, organizing gambling, and online gambling, people are requested to promptly report to the nearest police agency for timely handling.
The Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention will closely coordinate with the police of units, localities, functional agencies of the Ministry of Information and Communications, and people to fight and eradicate gambling dens and networks, and online gambling in all forms; coordinate with functional sectors to prosecute and strictly try violators before the law.
