Hang Du Muc and Quang Linh Vlogs were fined 140 million VND by authorities for falsely advertising Kera vegetable candy.
The decisions to punish Ms. Nguyen Thi Thai Hang (Hang Du Muc) and Mr. Pham Quang Linh (Quang Linh Vlogs) were made by the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) on March 20.
Accordingly, Quang Linh and Hang Du Muc were fined for false advertising, causing confusion about the quality of the announced product. The fine for this act is 70 million VND per individual. They are also forced to correct the information with the violation.
Hang Du Muc and Quang Linh Vlogs are famous people on social networks. Previously, these people and Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien appeared in many livestream sessions on social networks, advertising the Kera vegetable candy product. The product was announced by CER Company (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), starting to be launched on the market at the end of 2024.
Hang Du Muc and Quang Linh Vlogs were fined for being the hosts of the livestream. Miss Thuy Tien was a guest so she was not fined but was reminded to pay more attention to complying with regulations on advertising and providing information online.
The candy is produced by ASIA LIFE Joint Stock Company in Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak. Mr. Le Tuan Linh, General Director of CER, said that the raw materials are purchased from regions in Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Binh Thuan "ensuring quality and clear origin" and 100% of the products are produced at the ASIA factory.
These products were spread on the media and social networks with misleading information, for example "one pill replaces a plate of green vegetables". However, a user brought this candy to the Technical Center for Standards and Quality Measurement 2 for testing, the results showed that the entire box of 30 pills had only 0.51 grams of fiber, far from the advertisement.

Working with the management agency, Hang Du Muc, Quang Linh Vlogs and Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien all admitted their mistakes for not clearly understanding the ingredients of functional foods before promoting the products, leading to the transmission of false information during the livestream sales process.

The National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade) recommends that consumers be cautious with advertising information on social networks, especially products related to health. Buyers need to carefully research product information, origin and quality certifications before deciding to buy.
When discovering advertisements or false information, consumers need to immediately report it to the authorities for timely handling.
