According to the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05), Dong Nai Provincial Police, this is the largest high-tech fraud case in the area in recent times.

Previously, on December 29, 2024, Ms. NTNH (48 years old, residing in Bien Hoa City) contacted PA05 of Dong Nai Provincial Police to report that Mr. LQH (48 years old, her husband) was lured into transferring money to a stranger he met on social networks.

Immediately upon receiving the news, PA05 Dong Nai Provincial Police sent officers to Ms. H's house to obtain information and verify the incident.

Initially, the police determined that recently, Mr. LQH was befriended by an account named "Hoang Huyen Trang" and invited to invest in the stock market with high profits.

After making friends on Zalo, Mr. LQH was instructed to transfer 8 million VND to an account under the name of Tran Toan Investment Company... for investment.

After transferring the money, Mr. UN withdrew both the principal and interest of 9.6 million VND. Next, Mr. LQH continued to invest 68 million VND and withdrew 73 million VND.

Listening to the enticement of increasing investment capital for higher profits, Mr. LQH decided to go to the bank to close his savings book with 2.1 billion VND to invest in stocks, but Ms. H. discovered it and contacted the police for help to prevent it.

After being advised by PA05 officers and explained that this was just a high-tech fraud "scenario", Mr. LQH immediately stopped transferring money.

At this point, Mr. LQH realized that he had just luckily escaped a scam with a large sum of money. He then wrote a letter of thanks to the police officers for their timely support.

According to the police, the scam of calling for investment in stocks and virtual currency is being launched by cyber criminals and many people are falling into the trap.

Therefore, people need to raise their vigilance and should not believe in the lure of "huge profits" investment to avoid falling into the trap of scammers.
