The Tran Dynasty was a monarchy that ruled Dai Viet from 1226-1400. This dynasty is famous for its glorious achievements in Vietnamese history and is also one of the dynasties that left a strong historical and cultural mark on the land of Quang Ninh.

Up to now, Quang Ninh has 6 special national relics, most of which are related to the Tran Dynasty such as the Bach Dang Victory Memorial Site, the Yen Tu relic and scenic complex (currently preparing a dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a world cultural heritage), the Tran Kings' Temple and Tomb Relic Site in Dong Trieu, Cua Ong Temple - Cap Tien Temple. Not to mention Van Don Commercial Port is preparing a dossier to propose recognition as a special national relic. That is enough to see how strong the Tran Dynasty's mark is on Quang Ninh land.

The statue of Tran Hung Dao in Trung Ban communal house is associated with the legend of his hair falling out while he was commanding a battle. This is considered one of the most beautiful statues of Tran Hung Dao in Vietnam.

“Bach Dang river is the river of the border gate/ Ha Nam commune is the battlefield…” - the folk song that has been passed down for generations by the people of Ha Nam (Quang Yen town) has somewhat generalized the glorious victory of the nation in this land, especially the victory over the Yuan army in 1288. Not only leaving traces of Tran Quoc Tuan's stake battlefields to this day, the Bach Dang victory in 1288 also left dozens of relics in Quang Yen such as communal houses, pagodas, temples, shrines, and countless legends, anecdotes, poems, verses, parallel sentences... praising the glorious victory of the nation. Stories that are like legends but very rustic and everyday, such as the story of when Tran Quoc Tuan was urging his soldiers to kill the enemy, his hair fell out, so he used his sword to tie his hair back (Trung Ban communal house); the story of when he went to inspect the terrain to build the stake battlefield at the mouth of the Rut River and the Kenh River, the boat carrying Tran Hung Dao and Pham Ngu Lao ran aground on a mound (Trung Coc temple); The story of the water seller telling Tran Quoc Tuan about the water level to arrange the stakes (King Ba Temple)...

Quynh Lam Pagoda became an important Buddhist center in the 14th century during the Tran Dynasty with the activities of Phap Loa - the second patriarch of the Truc Lam Zen sect.

Dong Trieu - the land chosen by the Tran Dynasty to build a temple and bury 8 emperors after their death. Sinh Temple in Nghia Hung village is the place to worship 8 Tran Dynasty kings and the tombs of Tran Thai Tong, Tran Thanh Tong and Gian Dinh De. Tran Anh Tong's tomb is in Loc camp area, Tran Minh Tong's tomb is in Khe Gach area, Tran Hien Tong's tomb is in Ao Beo area, Tran Du Tong's tomb is in Dong Tron area, Tran Nghe Tong's tomb is in Khe Nghe area. At Meo mountain, Yen Duc commune, there is an engraved poem by King Tran Nhan Tong, there is Thien Long Uyen (garden of a thousand dragons) with suspicions of being a park of the Tran Dynasty. Nearby is the stone stele "Thien Lieu mountain, Tam Bao Dia" which is believed to be the estate of Tran Khanh Du granted by King Tran in ancient times.

Also in Dong Trieu, we must mention Quynh Lam Pagoda - which is said to have had a statue of Maitreya, one of the "four great treasures" of ancient Dai Viet. Quynh Lam Pagoda was where the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam used to come to preach, and where the "Bich Dong Poetry Society" founded by Tran Quang Trieu was like a literary club to compose poetry.

Yen Tu mountain, associated with the life and career of Buddhist King Tran Nhan Tong and the Truc Lam Zen sect, is being prepared to submit a dossier to UNESCO for recognition as a world cultural heritage.

Cua Ong Temple - Cap Tien Temple worships Tran Quoc Tang and famous generals of the Tran Dynasty, Duc Ong Temple (Ha Long City) worships Tran Quoc Nghien, two of the talented sons of Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan.

Van Hai archipelago is associated with the victory of defeating the Yuan Dynasty general Truong Van Ho's food fleet in 1288, and is associated with the prosperous development of Van Don commercial port during the Tran Dynasty with pagodas and towers on Thang Loi island commune.

All these vestiges show how important the geopolitical and geostrategic position of Quang Ninh was during the Tran Dynasty.
