Free training in cultural technology for many students in Thua Thien Hue

On May 25, the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Information Technology Center (HueCIT) announced that it had just opened a free training course on culture technology through VR 360 technology. This is an activity within the framework of cooperation in training on VR-360 digitalization and Photogrammetry between HueCIT and PoSTMEDIA Co., Ltd. (Korea).

PoSTMEDIA is an IT company headquartered in Seoul, Korea, operating in the New Media field since 1993. As a company connecting culture and technology, PoSTMEDIA is a pioneer in the field of Cultural Technology with achievements in many major projects. Some of the technologies have been patented.

PoSTMEDIA creates and designs digital cultural content, provides system integration (SI) services and professional IT consulting, aiming to develop and preserve cultural values. At the same time, inspire curiosity and expand people's worldview through digital media technology.

In Thua Thien Hue province, the Culture Technology training course through 360 VR techniques took place from May 24-26, 2024, focusing on supporting learners to learn in general and grasp the VR content production process, capture and edit 360 panoramic photos, thereby producing 360 VR content using local cultural heritage.

The main lecturer in charge of the training course is Mr. Kim Jae Seung - an expert in the field of video production using VR360 and Photogrammetry from Korea; the teaching assistants are technical experts from Korea, interpreters and more than 20 students. These are university students majoring in fine arts and communications; officers and communications specialists, information technology (IT) specialists from the Department of Information and Communications, Department of Tourism, HueCIT and a number of individuals interested in or working in fields related to digitization and heritage digitization.

Mr. Kim Jae Seung - an expert in video production using VR360 and Photogrammetry from Korea directly trained the students.

Through the course, students will be equipped with knowledge of principles and techniques of digitizing specimens, as well as experience and practical skills to achieve the highest efficiency and quality, along with 360VR/Photogrammetry techniques to create perfect digital products.

Dr. Do Xuan Huyen, Head of Training and Development Department (HueCIT) said that this is the only digital training program organized by HueCIT in cooperation with PostMEDIA company in Thua Thien Hue province, providing free support for learners with knowledge from basic to advanced on digitalization and heritage digitization.

From the successful effect of the Cultural Technology Training Course through photogrammetry technique that was just held in April 2024, the students of this class continued to participate in the 360VR course with the desire to access more technology and experience from Korean experts to improve their knowledge of heritage digitization in a systematic and complete manner.

"We hope that through this training program, we will contribute to training human resources capable of contributing to the field of cultural technology and other fields in Thua Thien Hue in the coming time," Dr. Do Xuan Huyen emphasized.
