Defeating Korea, Vietnam futsal team won the top spot in the group

Before the final match, the Vietnamese futsal team had the same number of points as the Korean futsal team after both defeating Mongolia and Nepal. However, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team ranked higher thanks to the advantage in the secondary index.

The Vietnamese team was considered stronger so it was not difficult to control the match. Meanwhile, the Korean team took the initiative to play slowly, keeping their formation to ensure their defensive duties.

The technical play and diverse attacking tactics of the Vietnamese team caused many difficulties for Korea. The efforts of the players in red shirts were realized in the 14th minute. Duong Ngoc Linh received the ball on the right wing before finishing hard to open the score of the match.

The Vietnamese team scored three goals in a row thanks to Duong Ngoc Linh, Dinh Cong Vien and Nguyen Minh Tri to lead 5-1. The efforts of the Korean team only helped them score one more goal in the final minutes.

The Vietnamese team won 5-2 overall, taking the top spot in Group D. Vietnam and South Korea won tickets to the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship finals. This tournament will be held in Thailand.
