The Party Committee of the Ministry organized a briefing on the socio-economic situation in the first 7 months of 2024

On the morning of August 15, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an online conference to connect the Central Reporters Conference in August 2024 organized by the Central Propaganda Department.

The Central Reporters Conference in August 2024 was held in a live format from the main bridge point of the Central Propaganda Department headquarters, combined with online access to 2020 bridges nationwide with nearly 75,000 delegates attending, including 3 bridges of the Central Propaganda Department, 57 bridges of provinces, 647 bridges at the district level and 1,313 bridges at the commune level.

Notably, the Party Committee of the Central Agencies opened 267 connection points with nearly 9,900 delegates attending; Cao Bang had 214 connection points with more than 5,381 delegates attending; Phu Yen organized 98 connection points with a total of 7,290 delegates attending; Vinh Long connected to 98 connection points with the participation of 4,287 delegates.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs bridge, there were comrades members of the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry; leaders of the Party Committee's staff; Party committees of units in the Ministry.

At the Conference, delegates listened to the thematic information: "Socio-economic situation in the first 7 months of 2024; socio-economic development plan for the last months of 2024," presented by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung.

According to Deputy Minister Do Thanh Trung, the socio-economic situation in the first 7 months has confirmed a clear recovery, with each month being more positive than the previous month, each quarter being more positive than the previous quarter, achieving many important and quite comprehensive results, summarized into 10 highlights. Accordingly, the economic growth in the second quarter reached 6.93% over the same period last year, and the overall growth in the first 6 months reached 6.42%; the macro economy was basically stable, inflation was controlled, and major balances were ensured.

The work of perfecting institutions and laws has been focused on and implemented vigorously, with the spirit of reform and development in each ministry, branch and locality, the spirit of accompanying businesses to solve difficulties and obstacles, proactively creating and forming an important foundation for the country's development in the medium and long term, in which the Government has submitted to the National Assembly permission to implement the Law on Land, Housing and Real Estate Business from August 1, 2024, 5 months earlier than the original effective date.

The infrastructure system continues to be prioritized for investment resources, achieving many clear results, in which the 500kV line 3 project has become a typical model in the organization of construction and implementation of public investment projects. Many projects have been put into operation, opening up new development space and opportunities for regions, the whole country and localities.

Total registered FDI capital in the first 7 months reached over 18 billion USD, up 10.9% over the same period, of which newly registered FDI reached nearly 10.8 billion USD, up 35.6%; realized FDI capital was about 12.6 billion USD, up 8.4%.

The Government has issued and implemented many policies and solutions to support businesses and production and business. Innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, new industries and sectors such as chips, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, etc. continue to be strongly promoted.

The planning work has been basically completed. By the end of July 2024, 63/63 localities have completed planning and submitted for appraisal, and 60/63 provincial plans have been approved.

Social security is ensured, people's lives continue to improve, in which salary policy reform is focused on implementation; regulations have been completed to increase the basic salary for the public sector, pensions, and social allowances from July 1, 2024; the fields of culture, society, national defense, security, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation continue to receive attention and development. Foreign affairs and international integration are increasingly deeper, more substantial, and comprehensive, with outstanding marks, concretized into specific, practical, and breakthrough projects.

In order to strive to achieve the highest socio-economic development goals and targets in 2024, the Government and the Prime Minister require all levels, sectors and localities to continue to resolutely, synchronously and effectively implement 8 key groups of tasks and solutions: urgently review, resolutely remove and immediately handle difficulties and obstacles in institutions, laws and administrative procedures, ensure progress and quality, identifying this as the driving force to create a breakthrough for growth in the last 6 months of 2024 and the coming time.

At the same time, continue to strongly promote and renew the three growth drivers of investment, domestic consumption and export; ensure macroeconomic stability, major balances of the economy, focusing on controlling inflation; promote new growth drivers from digital economy, digital transformation, green transformation.

All levels, sectors and localities continue to innovate their thinking, promote new approaches according to the Law on Planning to effectively organize the implementation of issued plans, promptly put plans into practice; strengthen the activities of regional coordination councils to deploy regional plans, promote regional linkages, solve regional issues and create new growth drivers and poles for the whole country.

Along with that, maximizing the effectiveness of the National Innovation Center, both at the central, regional and local levels, to promote the construction and development of the domestic innovation and creative startup ecosystem; support digital transformation for domestic enterprises; effectively carry out social security work, develop culture, education, health, environmental protection, national defense, security, foreign affairs, etc.

Also at the Conference, delegates listened to information on the topic: "Current situation of religion, belief and state management of religion in our country; directions, tasks and solutions in the coming time," presented by Head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vu Hoai Bac.

Orienting propaganda and concluding the Conference, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy requested the Propaganda Departments of provincial Party Committees, city Party Committees, Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, socio-political organizations, reporters at all levels and grassroots propagandists to focus on propagating some key contents in two thematic information reports at the Conference.

Along with that, focus on propagating the 55th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament (1969-2024) and the 55th anniversary of his death (September 2, 1969 - September 2, 2024), affirming the eternal value of the testament, an extremely important historical document, the crystallization of the ideology, culture, intelligence, morality and noble soul of a great man, who has brought glory to our nation, our people and our country; the great achievements and lessons of the Vietnamese revolution in the 55 years of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament...

Propaganda to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024); the great victories and historical achievements of the country over the past nearly eight decades, especially after nearly 40 years of implementing the country's renewal policy initiated and led by the Party.

The Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department also requested the Propaganda Departments of provincial, municipal Party Committees, Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, and Central Committees of socio-political organizations to issue documents directing and propagating the Plan to organize the Online Contest to learn about the 2024 Land Law so that cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life, especially reporters and propagandists, can actively respond and contribute to bringing the Law into life soon.
