The songwriting campaign "The Country is Full of Joy": Bustling melody of 50 years

On January 6, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper organized the 4th music exchange, responding to the song composition campaign "The Country is Full of Joy"

Delegates attending the 4th music exchange included Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc - Director, Head of the Southern Region Standing Office, Central Propaganda Department; Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Tran The Thuan, Director of the Department of Culture - Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Truong Luu, Chairman of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Ho Chi Minh City; musician Nguyen Quang Vinh, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association; Associate Professor - Dr. Nguyen Thi My Liem, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, and many artists.

This is a songwriting campaign organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). Journalist Bui Thanh Liem - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Lao Dong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee (OC) of the songwriting campaign "The Country is Full of Joy" - said that up to now, the Organizing Committee has received 160 songs from 160 musicians and groups of musicians nationwide. The Organizing Committee has selected 20 works for the final round and the final round will take place in February 2025. The Organizing Committee has also selected a number of good works to stage for the 30th Golden Apricot Awards Ceremony in 2024, which will take place on the evening of January 8 at the City Theater, broadcast live on VTV9 and live on many digital platforms.

Among the songs submitted by musicians, singers, and singing groups to participate in the campaign, many songs have risen to the top after many weeks of voting, including two songs competing for first and second place, namely: "TP of Faith and Aspiration" by musician Nguyen Thien Tue and "Tu TP HCM ngay ve Lich su" by two young musicians and singers from Lac Long Quan Stage Club, Hoang Trung Anh and Huy Truong.

Musician Nguyen Thien Tue shared that he was honored to know that his song was voted by a large audience. This is the motivation for him to continue composing more songs. Musician Nguyen Thien Tue also sent his thanks to Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper for creating a playground for musicians to express their feelings for the beloved city.

Musician Nguyen Quang Vinh, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, commented that the songwriting campaign "The Country Full of Joy" organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper is a useful playground for musicians nationwide. "This is a unique initiative to promote new compositions about Ho Chi Minh City and the country's important holidays. I believe that the Organizing Committee will reap many achievements from the campaign in the series of activities to welcome 2025 with many important events" - musician Nguyen Quang Vinh expressed.

The 4th Music Exchange Program has more clearly outlined the journey of organizing the creative movement when later on, many young musicians, singers, and singing groups have actively participated in many musical genres such as: pop, rap, lyrical, folk music...
