According to the leader of Hoa Hai commune, the total area of rice fields destroyed has not yet been determined. Based on initial assessments, this flock of birds may be wild ducks.

The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Huong Khe district said that the unit has grasped the incident of flocks of birds swooping down to destroy people's crops.

"We instruct people to take measures to chase away the birds but not to catch them. This flock of wild birds numbers up to thousands and often flies down to destroy the rice crop in the early morning and late afternoon. Because we cannot catch them, we do not know what kind of bird they are," said the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Huong Khe district.

According to the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Huong Khe district, in previous years, flocks of birds occasionally flew down to cause damage, but the number was small and the damage was less severe.
