Dak Lak: Social policy credit grows nearly 8.5%

The Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) Dak Lak branch has just held a meeting to evaluate the performance in the third quarter and deploy tasks for the fourth quarter of 2024.

According to Mr. Dao Thai Hoa, Director of the Social Policy Bank, Dak Lak province branch, from the beginning of 2024 to now, Dak Lak province has had 41,903 poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries receiving social policy credit loans with a total turnover of nearly 2,000 billion VND, an increase of more than 536 billion VND over the same period in 2023. The total outstanding debt of social policy credit programs implemented in the area is about 7,980 billion VND, an increase of more than 624 billion VND compared to the end of 2023, a growth rate of nearly 8.5%, with 168,321 customers with outstanding loans.

Mr. Dao Thai Hoa, Director of the People's Credit Fund, Dak Lak province branch, spoke at the meeting.

Mr. Hoa said that credit quality continues to be maintained and improved. Total overdue debt and deferred debt is more than 8.1 billion VND, accounting for 0.102%, reaching the target set by the resolution, maintaining below 0.2%. Compared to the end of 2023, there are 8 district-level transaction offices with reduced overdue debt including: Lak, Krong Pac, Cu M'gar, Krong Buk, Ea Sup, Ea H'leo, M'Drak, Krong Ana and 2 transaction offices with no overdue debt Buon Ho and Krong Bong; 10/15 district-level transaction offices have reduced deferred debt compared to the end of the year and 1 Lak district transaction office has no deferred debt.

In parallel with focusing on implementing assigned credit plan targets, the Social Policy Bank, Dak Lak branch regularly pays attention to and synchronously deploys solutions to consolidate and improve credit quality; closely coordinates with local authorities and socio-political organizations entrusted with analyzing and evaluating credit quality at each unit to direct the implementation of solutions suitable for each locality.

The inspection and supervision work of the Board of Directors, provincial associations and unions, and internal inspection and control, and specialized inspection ensure the proposed plan. The political and social organizations receiving the entrustment at all levels properly implement the entrusted contents, disburse quickly, to the right subjects, and promptly meet the borrowing needs of the poor and other policy subjects.

Delegates attending the meeting also focused on discussing a number of issues related to mobilizing deposits from organizations and individuals to create more capital for loans; strengthening propaganda and applying information technology in policy credit work; regularly organizing training courses on professional skills in implementing policy credit for lending groups and socio-political organizations; increasing capital for loans for women members; strengthening coordination in inspection and supervision of the Board of Directors and associations and unions at all levels...

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, Permanent Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Board of Directors of the Dak Lak Provincial Bank for Social Policies, praised and highly appreciated the results achieved in implementing credit programs of the Dak Lak Provincial Bank for Social Policies in the first 9 months of 2024 as well as the close coordination with the entrusted associations and unions at all levels, which have promoted high efficiency, helping to improve credit quality...

To promote the effectiveness of social policy credit programs implemented in the area, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha said that in the coming time, the Board of Directors of the Dak Lak Provincial Bank for Social Policies and departments and branches need to well implement the direction of the Prime Minister at the conference summarizing 10 years of implementing Directive No. 40-CT/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit.

Social policy credit programs implemented in Dak Lak province have brought about positive results.

In the process of developing the Credit Investment Project for poor households and other social policy beneficiaries using local budget capital in the area for the period 2024 - 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030, it is necessary to ensure the legal basis and forecast the actual situation to complete the content with high feasibility.

In particular, in the remaining months of 2024, it is necessary to focus on closely following the resolution of the Board of Directors' Representative Board in 2024 to complete targets and plans; urge localities to transfer entrusted capital to the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies for lending; accurately assess the poverty rate to effectively implement policy credit work in particular and social security work in general.
