On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), the Lao Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Lao Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia visited the Vietnamese Embassy to congratulate. This is not only an opportunity to express the deep affection between the two countries but also a testament to the strong friendship and long-term connection between Vietnam and Laos over the years.
On August 28, Lao Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, Kingphokeo Phommahaxay, his wife and staff of the Lao Embassy, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Brussels to celebrate National Day, September 2.
Here, Ambassador Kingphokeo Phommahaxay highly appreciated the remarkable development achievements that Vietnam has made in recent years. The traditional friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, two brotherly nations, has also been increasingly consolidated and developed, becoming an exemplary symbol of international solidarity and friendship. Ambassador Kingphokeo Phommahaxay wishes to continue promoting and strengthening the special relationship between the two countries in all fields, from economy, culture, education, to defense and security cooperation.

Expressing his gratitude for the good feelings that Ambassador Kingphokeo Phommahaxay and Lao friends have shown to the Vietnamese people, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium Nguyen Van Thao emphasized the importance of enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the two embassies, thereby contributing to further strengthening the friendship and special cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Laos. The Ambassador said that the two embassies need to continue to coordinate more closely within the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), actively contributing to the building of a united, prosperous and sustainably developed ASEAN community.
Also on August 28, a delegation from the Lao Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia led by Ambassador Buakeo Phumvongsay visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Phnom Penh to congratulate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
Ambassador Buakeo Phumvongsay said that the August Revolution was an important event in the history of Vietnam. Over the past 79 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people have achieved many important victories. The Lao Party, State and people always attach importance to and appreciate the relationship with Vietnam. He hoped that the Governments and peoples of the two countries would continue to trust and support each other, demonstrating the close comradeship, brotherhood and tradition of mutual love between the two peoples of Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam.
On behalf of the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang hopes to continue to cooperate closely with the Lao Embassy, making positive contributions to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the coming time. The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam will continue to stand side by side with Laos to overcome all difficulties and challenges, help each other develop together, and bring a prosperous and happy life to the people of the two countries.
On this occasion, the two Ambassadors agreed to continue to strengthen close cooperation between the two Embassies, regularly organize people-to-people exchange programs to strengthen friendship, contributing to further enhancing relations between the two countries.
