The 6th Congress of Ha Nam Literature and Arts Association, term 2023

On the morning of October 16, at the Hall of the People's Committee of Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province, the 6th Congress of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association (VHNT) for the 2023-2028 term took place with the theme "Solidarity, innovation, for the cause of developing Literature and Arts of Ha Nam province".

At the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Van Ngan was elected by the Congress as Chairman of the Ha Nam Provincial Literature and Arts Association, term VI, 2023 - 2028.

Attending the Congress were Associate Professor, Doctor - Musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Journalist, Artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine; Comrade Nguyen Duc Vuong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Nguyen Duc Toan, Head of the Provincial Propaganda Department; leaders of the Literature and Arts Associations of the Red River Delta provinces and many artists of the Literature and Arts Association of Ha Nam province.

During the 2018-2023 term, the Ha Nam Provincial Literature and Arts Association has always promoted the spirit of solidarity, gradually overcome difficulties, gathered a large number of artists, actively participated in research and artistic creation, contributing to vividly reflecting the achievements in politics , economy, culture and society, making an important contribution to the cause of national construction and development.

Speaking at the Congress, Associate Professor, Doctor - Musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, acknowledged, praised and highly appreciated the contributions of the Ha Nam Province Literature and Arts Association as well as the creative achievements of the province's artists in the past term who have tried and overcome all difficulties in life to create many valuable works.

Ha Nam Province Literature and Arts Association currently has 122 members aged 50 to 70, operating in 7 affiliated branches including: Prose Branch; Poetry Branch; Photography Branch; Fine Arts Branch; Music Branch; Theater Branch; Folk Arts Branch.

During the term, the Association has coordinated with branches and grassroots committees to propagateand educate , raise ideological awareness, and organize the dissemination of the Party and State's guidelines and policies to each member. The Association has sent nearly 50 officials and members to attend the Conference to study, disseminate and research the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Vuong, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee spoke at the Congress.

The Association has also successfully organized 11 literary and artistic creation camps in various fields; published 36 books including short story collections, novels, research collections, etc.

Hundreds of members of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association have been supported in creating and publishing their works. Two poetry collections by author Nguyen Xuan Cong and author Nguyen Hai Chi have received investment and support from the Central Government for publication. The Literature and Arts Association has published two joint books of the Association: Collection of Short Stories Ha Nam 2018 - 2023 and Collection of Poetry Ha Nam 2018 - 2023.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Vuong, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee to members with outstanding achievements in the Association's work for the 2018 - 2023 term.

In addition, the Association also coordinates with departments, branches and sectors in the province to effectively organize cultural and artistic activities to serve the political tasks of the province, key cultural and artistic events such as: Propaganda to welcome the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and the election of People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term; Organizing the annual Vietnam Poetry Day with many themes; Hosting many major cultural and artistic events; Red River Delta Regional Art Photography Festival in 2018; Red River Delta Region II Fine Arts Exhibition in 2022; advising the Provincial People's Committee to organize the consideration and awarding of the 8th Nguyen Khuyen Literature and Art Award in 2022.

Also during the term, the Association admitted 26 new members; 5 members to the Central professional associations. Many artists were awarded Medals and Certificates of Merit from all levels and sectors for their achievements in cultural and artistic activities. Of which, 02 artists were awarded the title of Meritorious Artist by the State. In particular, the late musician Bui Dinh Thao was posthumously awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2023 with a series of 4 songs associated with the childhood generation: Em di dau bien vang; Di hoc; My dear pen sach; Tieng hat goi may.

Associate Professor, Doctor - Musician Do Hong Quan also emphasized some points for the Ha Nam Provincial Literature and Arts Association to achieve better results in the new term:

We need to make more efforts in comprehensive innovation, creating strong motivation to promote creative work of all members in the new term.

The provincial Literature and Arts Association and its members need to closely follow the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee, actively and proactively serve the province's political tasks through works, projects, and practical and effective activities.

It is necessary to discover, train and recruit new members, increase the number of members, especially improve the quality of literary and artistic works, and win many high awards in exhibitions, festivals and competitions organized by Central and Provincial Professional Associations.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association for the 6th term, 2023-2028, consisting of 11 members; of which Mr. Nguyen Van Ngan was elected by the Congress as Chairman of the Association, and Mr. Tran Duc Duy was elected as Vice Chairman of the Association. Mr. Nguyen Van Ngan was born in 1969, from Duy Tien commune, Ha Nam. Before the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Van Ngan held the position of Director of the Ha Nam Provincial Center for Culture and Arts.

The Executive Committee of the Ha Nam Literature and Arts Association, term VI, 2023 - 2028, was introduced to the Congress

Within the framework of the Congress, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag to the Provincial Literature and Arts Association; and presented the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Literature and Arts" Medal to 15 individuals with many contributions to the development of literature and arts.

The Provincial People's Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals with many contributions to cultural and artistic activities in the period 2018 - 2023.
