Attending the congress were delegates: Mr. Tran Thanh Lam, Standing Deputy Secretary of Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee; Lawyer Vo Thi Kim Hong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association; Lawyer Tran Luong Pho, Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association; Mr. Nguyen Hai Ha, Vice Chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; and representatives of a number of departments, branches and sectors.
In the summary report of the 2018 - 2024 term, Lawyer Vo Minh Thuong, Vice President of the Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association, term V, stated that during the past term, with the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, the support and coordination of relevant agencies and organizations, and the efforts of all members in the province, up to now, the implementation of the Resolution of the 5th Congress of Delegates of the Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association, term 2018 - 2024 has been completed, in which there are areas of work that exceed the targets set out in the Resolution. In particular, since the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee issued Plan No. 184CV/BNCTU dated November 2, 2022 on implementing Directive No. 14-CT/TW dated July 1, 2022 of the Politburo on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over the Vietnam Lawyers Association in the new situation, the association's work in the province has received more attention from all levels and sectors. The role of the Lawyers Association from the province to the grassroots level continues to be affirmed and promoted. Many aspects of activities have achieved good results, contributing positively to the political, economic and social development of Ben Tre province.

On behalf of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Tran Thanh Lam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, commended the results that the Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association has achieved in the past term. Along with the general development of the province, the Executive Committee of the Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association has performed its tasks well, including many activities exceeding the targets set in the resolution. The Association at all levels has thoroughly implemented the Party's directives, resolutions, regulations, and the State's legal policies.
At the same time, the Ben Tre Provincial Bar Association must be responsible for researching and contributing quality opinions in the development and completion of legal documents, actively contributing to the development of legal policies of the Party and State.

On behalf of the leadership of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, Lawyer Vo Thi Kim Hong, member of the Central Standing Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, acknowledged and commended the important results that the Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association has achieved in the past term.
In the coming years, the world and regional situation is forecasted to continue to have complex developments, affecting our country's socio-economic situation. In addition to advantages, there will also be many difficulties and challenges, requiring all levels of the Lawyers Association and each cadre and member to continue to strive to raise awareness and successfully complete assigned political tasks.
Lawyer Vo Thi Kim Hong, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, highly appreciated the contributions that the Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association has achieved in the past term.
Lawyer Vo Thi Kim Hong basically agreed with the main goals, targets, tasks and solutions set out in the Summary Report presented to the congress. At the same time, she emphasized the following contents:
The Ben Tre Provincial Bar Association needs to pay attention to and focus on political and ideological education among its members. This is a key task to build a politically, ideologically and organizationally strong Association. Dissemination and thorough understanding of Party and State documents and the Association's Charter among all members at each level of the Association, so that members can grasp the Party and State's policies and guidelines, the Association's principles, objectives, nature and activities, and the basic rights and obligations of members, etc., in order to create unity in the members' awareness and actions towards the requirements of society and the Association.
Focus on innovating operating methods and improving the management capacity of the Association at all levels according to the motto: practicality, focusing on quality; dynamic, creative, suitable to the actual capacity and specific conditions of the Association. The Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association needs to proactively research and propose to local Party committees and authorities to gain leadership attention, orientation, assignment of tasks and create favorable conditions in terms of staffing, funding and facilities to serve the Association's work in the spirit of Directive No. 14-CT/TW, dated July 1, 2022 of the Politburo.
Proactively advise the People's Committee of Ben Tre province in effectively implementing the Project "Promoting the role of Lawyers' Associations at all levels in disseminating and educating the law" for the period 2024-2030.
Strengthen inspection work at the grassroots level to promptly support and remove difficulties and obstacles, helping local associations operate smoothly and join hands with the Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association to successfully implement the Congress Resolution.
Strongly promote emulation movements to all levels of the association and members in the province, develop and promulgate plans to launch emulation, promptly reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work, promote advanced models towards the 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Lawyers Association and towards the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Lawyers Association (April 4, 1955 - April 4, 2025), as well as towards important events of the country and of Ben Tre province.
Overview of the congress.
The 6th Congress of Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association, term 2024 - 2029, had 144 official delegates convened, representing 1,839 members across the province.
The Congress discussed the Summary Report of the 2018 - 2024 term, the direction and tasks for the 2024 - 2029 term; the Review Report of the Executive Committee for the 2018 - 2024 term; elected the Executive Committee and the Inspection Committee for the 2024 - 2029 term. With the spirit of democracy, solidarity, and high sense of responsibility, after a day of work, the Congress agreed: Unanimously approved the draft Political Report to be submitted to the 6th Congress of Delegates of the Ben Tre Provincial Lawyers Association, term 2024 - 2029;
Agree on basic tasks and targets for the next 5 years, including: Regarding organization: Establish 3 new Legal Consulting organizations at the District Lawyers Association, 40 new grassroots branches, focusing on establishing branches in communes, wards and towns. Strive to have no weak association organizations.
Regarding members: During the term, develop at least 150 new members; no member who violates must be disciplined. Regarding participation in building legal policies, supervision, and social criticism: Ensure 100% compliance with the requirements of agencies and organizations. Regarding legal dissemination and education: Implement the Project "Promoting the role of Lawyers' Associations at all levels in collaborating to disseminate and educate the law in the period 2024 - 2030" with good results.
Regarding legal advice, legal aid, and participation in litigation: 100% quality assurance. Regarding training and development of association officials and members: Each year, the Provincial Bar Association opens 2 training courses, the District and City Bar Association opens 1 training course on legal knowledge and Association work skills for association officials and members. Regarding emulation: 100% of association organizations in the province carry out the annual emulation movement well.
The conference also approved the election results of the 6th Executive Committee of the Ben Tre Provincial Bar Association for the 2024-2029 term, consisting of 21 members, and the election results of the Inspection Committee, consisting of 3 members. Lawyer Tran Luong Pho was re-elected as Chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial Bar Association for the 2024-2029 term.
The Executive Committee of the Ben Tre Provincial Bar Association for the 2024 - 2029 term received the direction of the leaders of Ben Tre province and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Bar Association; at the same time, based on the results of the Congress's comments, it completed and officially issued the Congress documents, concretized them into annual programs and plans to successfully implement the Congress Resolution.
