People's Council delegates at two levels meet voters before the regular mid-year session in 2024

On the morning of June 19, in Binh Minh ward, the delegation of the Provincial People's Council in Lao Cai city and the City People's Council delegates held a meeting with voters before the regular mid-year session of the 2024 Provincial People's Council and the City People's Council, term 2021 - 2026.

Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Trong Hai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Do Truong Son, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee; delegations of the Provincial People's Council and the City People's Council; representatives of some provincial departments and branches and voters representing the people of 9 communes and wards in the South of the city, including: Nam Cuong, Bac Lenh, Pom Han, Xuan Tang, Binh Minh wards and Thong Nhat, Cam Duong, Ta Phoi, Hop Thanh communes.

At the meeting, voters were informed about the results of activities in the first 6 months of 2024, tasks for the last 6 months of 2024 of the City People's Council and the Provincial People's Council; results of implementing the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months of 2024, directions and tasks for socio-economic development in the last 6 months of 2024 of the City People's Council and the Provincial People's Council; content and agenda of the regular mid-year session of 2024 of the 16th Lao Cai Provincial People's Council; report on the situation of responding to and resolving voters' petitions...

Voters expressed their opinions at the conference.

At the meeting, voters from 9 communes and wards in the south of the city had 19 opinions and recommendations to the delegation of the Provincial People's Council and the delegation of the City People's Council.

Specifically, voters of Pom Han ward requested to continue the construction of Hoa Ban Kindergarten located in residential area No. 12; some flood prevention and control projects of residential areas No. 10, 11, 15 of the ward have had investment decisions, but have not yet been constructed, requesting to speed up the progress to ensure traffic safety and environmental sanitation; residential area No. 15 does not have street names and house numbers, requesting the City People's Committee to provide street names and house numbers to households living in this area.

Voters of Binh Minh Ward proposed that the Provincial People's Council study and supplement the level of support to encourage comrades who are on leave from the civil defense force due to not being qualified to join the grassroots security force; according to the provisions of the Land Law, there are only 3 cases of land allocation for resettlement, however, in the ward, there are many cases where children of households live and build houses on their parents' agricultural land before, so when the land must be cleared, these cases do not meet the conditions for land allocation for resettlement, proposing that the Provincial People's Council consider having a special mechanism or providing guidance to resolve the above cases. The project to level the ground on both sides of D1 Road, Group 17 currently has more than 30 households whose agricultural land has been recovered, but the current compensation price is too low, proposing that the Provincial People's Committee consider adjusting the compensation price for agricultural land appropriately. The province continues to research and have mechanisms and policies to support ethnic minority children who finish junior high school and do not continue to high school but go to vocational training to participate in the domestic and foreign labor market, solving long-term employment to contribute to reducing the situation of early marriage; have a mechanism to support the purchase of health insurance for disadvantaged groups such as single mothers, people without stable jobs, people with serious illnesses, lonely elderly people, orphans, etc.

Voters' opinions are all practical and constructive.

Voters of Ta Phoi commune requested the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee to pay attention to investing in embankments to prevent landslides in Da Dinh 1 village stream to avoid damage to more than 7 hectares of agricultural and aquaculture land in this area; continue to pay attention to investing and repairing Provincial Road 156 from the Registration Center to the center of Ta Phoi commune; currently, the Chao Van Chuan canal, Peng village and the Can Thanh and Phin Ho canals have degraded, not ensuring irrigation water; request the city to continue to pay attention to investing and repairing.

Voters of Cam Duong commune requested to speed up the progress of infrastructure construction, install clean water supply system, lighting system, support concrete road construction for villages without concrete roads... so that Cam Duong commune can soon become a ward; have measures to manage and handle social evils...

Voters of Hop Thanh commune proposed that the province consider re-establishing the Ta Phoi - Hop Thanh regional polyclinic, creating favorable conditions for people in medical examination and treatment.

Voters of Bac Lenh ward proposed to soon implement the construction of a cultural house in group 1; have a policy of pruning trees before the rainy season to ensure safety for people...

At the conference, representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors received, responded to and clarified a number of voters' recommendations under the province's authority.

He suggested that the relevant levels, sectors and the city government should receive, study and direct the resolution of voters' opinions and recommendations under the authority of which level or sector.

At the same time, clarify the issues under the authority of the city and request the city's specialized departments and offices to study and respond to the contents of the voters' recommendations; strengthen the work of reviewing and promptly resolving problems for the people, avoiding causing prolonged frustration.
