Mr. Tan Van Vuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City said that in the first quarter of 2024, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated at more than 1.88 million, an increase of 23.4% over the same period last year.
Of which, international visitors are estimated at nearly 636,000, up 21.6% over the same period last year; domestic visitors are estimated at nearly 1.25 million, up 24.3% over the same period last year. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel is estimated at more than VND 7,600 billion, up 25.6% over the same period last year.

Wedding tourism products attract tourists
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, domestic flights to and from Da Nang International Airport are operating quite stably. There are currently 18 international flights including: Bangkok and Chiang Mai (Thailand), Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Taipei (Taiwan - China), Macau (China), Hong Kong (China), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Incheon - Busan - Daegu - Cheongju - Muan (Korea), Narita (Japan), Manila (Philippines), Kaohsiung (Taiwan - China) reopened from March 31, 2024, Taichung (Taiwan - China) reopened from April 2, 2024, Vientiane (Laos) reopened from April 4, 2024.
In the first quarter of 2024, the total number of domestic and international flights to Da Nang is estimated at 9,550, with about 1.59 million passengers; including 4,798 domestic flights with nearly 796,000 passengers; 4,752 international flights with 798,000 passengers.
Cruise passengers grew well from markets in Europe, the US, China, Australia... with 21 trips and 25,000 passengers (2023 had 22 trips with more than 18,000 passengers). Inland waterway passengers are estimated at 266,700 passengers, an increase of 45% over the same period last year (2023 had more than 183,000 passengers).
In particular, Da Nang City has coordinated with Thua Thien - Hue province to launch a Hue - Da Nang tourist train named "Connecting Central Heritage" to diversify tourism products and attract international visitors on the heritage tourism journey of the three localities of Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam.

According to Mr. Tan Van Vuong, in the first quarter of 2024, Da Nang welcomed 25 MICE delegations with about 9,510 visitors, 1.4 times higher than the same period last year, including 3 domestic delegations (total 1,500 visitors) and 22 international delegations (total 8,010 visitors). International MICE delegations mainly come from markets such as: India, Russia, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Southeast Asia, etc.
The highlight is the wedding tourism product. In 3 months, Da Nang has attracted about 20 weddings in the form of wedding tourism of overseas Vietnamese brides and grooms, couples from India, Australia, Japan, Taiwan (China), Singapore, the US... In particular, there were 4 large weddings of Indian couples with more than 1,000 guests...
"Da Nang continues to implement policies to attract MICE tourists, wedding venues with many segments for domestic and international guests; build a wedding service supply chain, issue policies to attract wedding tourism," said Mr. Vuong.
Increase the competitiveness of the destination
In the past 3 months, Da Nang has put many tourism products, tourist areas, tourist attractions, and tourism service businesses into operation to attract and serve tourists, especially during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2024.
The Department of Tourism of Da Nang City has organized a tourism stimulus program with the theme "Enjoy Da Nang" with many attractive tourism products to attract domestic and foreign tourists; submitted to the City People's Committee the Plan to organize the festival "Enjoy Da Nang 2024"; and prepared to organize the festival to open the 2024 beach tourism season.
The tourism stimulus program takes place throughout 2024, introducing unique tourism products, while enhancing the experience for visitors with more than 10,000 free vouchers and discount offers, with priority given to giving away 2,000 tickets to watch the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival to visitors.
The DIFF International Fireworks Festival officially returns to Da Nang in the summer of 2024 with the theme “Made in Unity – Global Connection – Radiant Five Continents”, promising to continue to entertain visitors from all over the world with splendid “feasts of the senses” in the sky.
New tourism products in each phase will be launched to serve the needs of tourists such as: water music performance; water puppet show (Cultural Show); jet ski, flyboard performance with sound, light and fireworks effects (Danang River Show); opening of Bach Dang walking street, piloting night services on Nguyen Van Troi bridge and the East bank park at the foot of Nguyen Van Troi bridge with many fun activities, entertainment, check-in, traditional and modern art programs... combined with enjoying street food and admiring the beautiful scenery of Da Nang at night...
