Da Nang auctioned 2 assets worth 43 billion VND related to corruption

On April 12, the Steering Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity held its 7th meeting, giving opinions on a number of contents and implementing a number of tasks in the coming time.

Information from the City Party Committee's Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity, in the first quarter of 2024, the City Steering Committee will continue to direct the city's prosecution agencies to speed up the handling of cases and incidents under the City Steering Committee's monitoring and direction.

The Steering Committee agreed to add 2 more cases and incidents to the list of cases and incidents for the Steering Committee to monitor and direct, and assigned the Chairman of the City People's Committee to direct 1 case.

The city's prosecution agencies have made great efforts and closely coordinated in handling cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee, removing difficulties and obstacles in the work of appraisal, asset valuation, and recovery of corrupt assets; providing documents, transferring files and information about the cases, speeding up the verification, investigation and handling of cases and incidents.

Up to now, the Investigation Police Agency of Da Nang City Police has issued investigation conclusions, the People's Procuracy of the city has issued indictments for 5 cases under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee; the People's Court of the city has brought 2 cases to trial and is preparing to bring 4 cases to trial; has auctioned 2 assets related to criminal judgments on corruption and economics in Da Nang city with a total amount of nearly 43 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, highly appreciated and acknowledged the results achieved in the first quarter of 2024 by the Standing Office of the Steering Committee and members of the Steering Committee; requested that Party committees at all levels, Party executive committees, and Party delegations under the City Party Committee focus on seriously and effectively implementing new documents of the Central Committee, the City Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and the City Party Committee's Steering Committee on anti-corruption work.

He requested the Party Committee of the City People's Committee to direct the City People's Committee to assign sectors and localities to continue implementing the contents of the conclusions of the Government Inspectorate and recommendations of the State Audit within the city's authority.

The prosecuting agencies continue to overcome difficulties and obstacles, and have solutions to speed up the resolution of cases and incidents in the stages of the proceedings according to the set plan. Speed ​​up the recovery of assets in corruption, economic and position cases under the jurisdiction of the city.

Mr. Quang also assigned the Standing Office of the Steering Committee to advise on the implementation of inspection and supervision teams according to the Steering Committee's 2024 Inspection and Supervision Program and coordinate with agencies and units advising the Steering Committee to complete tasks according to the proposed work program.
