Da Nang: Industrial production index increased the most since 2019

DNVN - According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, the industrial production index (IIP) in the city in the first 7 months of 2024 reached the highest increase of 7 months since 2019.

According to the Da Nang Statistical Office, the city's industrial production index (IIP) in July 2024 is estimated to increase by 3.4% over the previous month and by 9.9% over the same period in 2023. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 3.9% and 10.7% respectively; electricity production and distribution industry (+2.5%) and (+16.2%)...

Da Nang's IIP index in the first 7 months of 2024 reached the highest increase of 7 months since 2019.

“In the first 7 months of 2024, the IIP of the entire Da Nang industry increased by 4.7% compared to the same period in 2023. This is the highest increase in 7 months since 2019,” said the Da Nang Statistics Office.

Of which, 3/4 of the first-level industry groups had positive growth, including: production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning (+15.6%); processing and manufacturing industry (+4.4%); water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment (+3.7%); mining activities continued to decline (-38.3%) compared to the same period in 2023.

In industrial sectors, although the growth rate of processing and manufacturing industry has not reached the expected level, there have been quite positive signs of recovery. Specifically, the repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment (+50.3%); textile (+42.9%); production of rubber and plastic products (+22.2%); production of beverages (+19.5%)...

On the contrary, some manufacturing industries continue to face difficulties in product consumption, along with high input material prices causing continuous disruptions in business production activities.

Typical in some industry groups such as: production of other means of transport (-30.6%); other processing and manufacturing industries (-19%); production of drugs, pharmaceutical chemicals and medicinal materials (-18.3%); production of leather and related products (-17.7%); processing of wood and products made from wood, bamboo and rattan (-17.0%)...

“In July 2024, the city’s industrial production index generally showed an upward trend compared to the previous month and the same period last year. The significant increase compared to the same period in 2023 demonstrates the determination and efforts to overcome difficulties of the business community and business households in the context of the world economy still facing many complex and unpredictable fluctuations,” said the Da Nang Statistics Office.
