Da Lat - Chuncheon: Cultural exchange, connecting friendship

On December 4, in Lam Dong province, a cultural and artistic exchange night took place between the two cities of Da Lat (Vietnam) and Chuncheon (Korea). The activity was to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of relations between Da Lat city and Chuncheon city. This was also an event in response to the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival - 2024.

During the exchange night, Chuncheon Korean Martial Arts Men's Choir; Chuncheon City Art Troupe; 212 Nation Da Lat Modern Dance Group; Da Lat Vovinam Club; Teachers of Da Lat City Kindergarten 5... along with many singers and artists participated in performing modern and folk dances; performing Taekwondo and Vovinam martial arts. The actors and artists of the two cities also organized exchanges with the attending audience.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Dang Quang Tu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Lat City, said that 2024 marks the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the sister city relationship between the two localities: Da Lat City (Lam Dong Province, Vietnam) and Chuncheon City (Gangwon Province, South Korea). Over the years, the two cities have organized many exchange activities such as visits between the government, councils and working delegations.

Mr. Dang Quang Tu hopes that through this event, the people and tourists of Da Lat city will understand more about Korean culture and people. In return, Korean people will also know more about Vietnamese culture and people in general and the style of Da Lat people "Gentle - Elegant - Hospitable" in particular.

According to Mr. Rhee Kang Kyun, Chairman of Chuncheon City Sports Association, after this event, the two cities will mark the culture and friendship between the two countries. Chuncheon City and Da Lat City will maintain this friendly relationship, contributing to the cooperation between the two countries.

On this occasion, representatives of Chuncheon city presented flowers and souvenirs including computers, books and items to the elementary school library in Da Lat with a total value of 10 million won (more than 180 million VND).

Also on December 4, at the Hoa Binh Exhibition Hall (Da Lat city), the 2024 Da Lat - Chuncheon Children's Painting Exhibition opened. This is also an activity in a series of cultural, tourism and sports events in response to and welcoming the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival in 2024.

The exhibition was held from December 4-12, including 100 paintings created by children from Da Lat and Chuncheon. With many different themes, the exhibition introduced to the public the multi-dimensional perspectives of children on issues related to life such as: joining hands to protect the environment, preserving the green of the homeland, the friendship between Da Lat - Chuncheon and many other themes.
