A profound book about the great contributions of General Nguyen Chi Thanh

On June 10, the National Political Publishing House Truth Information published the book "General Nguyen Chi Thanh - Excellent leader of the Party, talented general of the Vietnam People's Army" selected by Senior Lieutenant General, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Chi Vinh.

The book introduces typical articles by General Nguyen Chi Thanh on building a strong army in politics, ideology and organization under the leadership of the Party; articles by Party and State leaders, scientists, comrades and teammates of General Nguyen Chi Thanh.

The book consists of two parts. The first part, “Strengthening the Party’s leadership, building a strong People’s Army in political theory, ideology and organization,” includes typical articles by General Nguyen Chi Thanh in his position as Chief of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Army, Deputy Secretary of the General Military Commission and Secretary of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam, and Political Commissar of the armed forces for the liberation of Southern Vietnam, with pen names such as Nguyen Vinh, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Truong Son, Sau Di, Nguoi Quan Sat, D400, SKZ, Ben Tre...

Some of the articles include “Winning the People” (written in May 1951); “Continuously fighting, taking advantage of time to actively destroy more enemy forces, promoting guerrilla warfare” (a speech to a combat unit, early 1952); “The US’s strategic counterattack plan in the dry season has been smashed, our army and people in the South have won a great victory” (written in May 1966, pen name Truong Son)…

The General's articles demonstrate the dialectical thinking about science, special political sensitivity, far-sighted vision, and strategic thinking of a talented politician and military man of the Party, State, and Vietnam People's Army; contributing to building the Party, building the all-people national defense, and building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern People's Army, ensuring comprehensive quality and high combat strength, meeting requirements and tasks in all situations.

The second part “General Nguyen Chi Thanh - A staunch, exemplary communist, an outstanding general of the Vietnam People's Army” includes articles affirming the great contributions of General Nguyen Chi Thanh in strengthening and consolidating the Party's leadership over the people's armed forces, building a political work tradition, promoting the nature of the army in applying and creatively developing the art of people's war, and determined to defeat the American invaders on the Southern battlefield.
