In its second year, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Painting Contest continues to have a fairly high prize value (nearly 1 billion VND), and at the same time adds prizes for young authors.
Mr. To Van Dong - Vice President of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association informed about the contest
This contest aims to create a playground for artists, and at the same time, give young artists, domestic art students and Vietnamese students studying abroad the opportunity to learn and express their love for cultural heritage through their ideas and creativity. Accordingly, the authors participating in the painting contest will express the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, and scenic spots in all regions of Vietnam with a free-form style. The paintings are drawn using all painting materials. The jury will preliminarily evaluate the entries through photos sent to the Organizing Committee's email. The authors whose works are selected for the final round will receive a notice from the Organizing Committee requesting them to send their works by post to the Office of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association (19 Ngoc Ha, Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
Works submitted to the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Painting Contest must be framed in accordance with the requirements of the Organizing Committee. Similar to the 2023 competition, the total prize value of this contest is nearly 1 billion VND with 30 prizes, including: 1 excellent prize of 100 million VND, 1 first prize of 75 million VND, 2 second prizes of 50 million VND each, 3 third prizes of 40 million VND each, 20 consolation prizes of 10 million VND each.
The first contest has spread to many audiences, especially young authors.
In particular, according to Mr. To Van Dong (Vice President of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest), to encourage young authors to participate and create a great influence on all audiences, this year's contest has 3 more youth prizes (ages from 6 to 22), each prize worth 30 million VND.
In addition, 70 finalists will each receive 5 million VND and a certificate from the Organizing Committee. The competition will run from September 2024 to September 30, 2025 and is expected to award prizes in November 2025. The winning works will be selected for exhibition at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts and other cultural venues.
Previously, in the first time held in 2023, the first Vietnam Cultural Heritage Painting Contest attracted more than 800 works by nearly 500 authors from 55 provinces and cities. 100 works were selected for the Final round, of which 30 excellent works were awarded official prizes./.
