Resolute solutions

In 2024, Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV will face many difficulties due to lack of bauxite mine resources or fragmented and scattered mining areas. The reason is that the work of clearing, compensating and reclaiming the mine site is still slow.

In 2024, DNA will face many difficulties due to lack of ore mining area for production.

Meanwhile, the ore recovery rate and ore quality are decreasing and fluctuating continuously. This has significantly affected the operation, balancing and adjusting of the technological chain of the entire Nhan Co Alumina Factory.

However, with many flexible solutions, the company has minimized the impact on production and business efficiency. Specifically, the company has deployed solutions in production management and technology management to maintain stable and effective factory operations.

The implementation of the project to delineate corner coordinates for areas where mining licenses will be granted will help reduce the affected land area, while ensuring mineral exploitation within the planning.
In 2024, DNA coordinated with localities to approve 14 compensation, support and resettlement plans.

In 2024, the company coordinated with local authorities to approve 14 compensation, support and resettlement plans. The area handed over and mobilized for exploitation during the year reached about 56 hectares.

In addition, DNA has been interested in coordinating in the work of mobilizing, propagating, and persuading local people to hand over land for mining. Thanks to that, many households, although not yet resettled, still agreed to hand over land for ore mining.

In particular, many households have harvested agricultural products early to hand over the site ahead of schedule, helping the company have a source of ore to exploit to serve the factory's stable production...

Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuong, Deputy Director of DNA, said that the company continues to do a good job of site clearance compensation and preparation for stable, long-term production.

In particular, the company coordinates with local authorities to strive for the area of clean land to be handed over for exploitation in the first quarter of 2025 to reach 18 hectares or more.

Along with that, technology solutions are focused on researching and applying digital transformation in operations management, equipment management, cost management, and production planning management.

At the same time, the company promotes mechanization and automation of technological stages and large equipment systems that affect technological adjustment. This helps to control consumption rates in boiler systems, hydrate furnace systems, red mud separation systems, etc.

The company has researched, applied and tested new types of supplies, materials and chemicals with superior properties suitable for the technology and actual ore sources supplied to the factory. This solution helps to optimize technological indicators, reduce production costs and improve production line productivity.

DNA always optimizes technological indicators, helping to reduce production costs and improve production line productivity.

The company regularly organizes seminars and conferences to summarize, exchange, communicate, learn and further improve scientific research, technological innovation, initiatives and technical improvements in the general production and business process.

In 2024, DNA's converted alumina production output reached 692,500 tons, equal to 106.5% of the plan; profit reached 112 billion VND, reaching 373% of the plan.

Determined to achieve goals

Right after the Lunar New Year holiday, DNA exported the first shipment of alumina in 2025, marking a favorable start for production and business activities in the year.

The shipment of 25,000 tons of alumina was shipped to a customer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a long-standing, highly reputable partner of the company.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Board of Members of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, said that along with advantages in alumina production, the group is facing many major challenges.

In 2025, DNA continues to strengthen human resource training.

According to Mr. Tuan, currently, mining costs are increasing due to having to be carried out at deeper mines; meanwhile, environmental protection costs are also increasing.

Moreover, the fluctuation of coal prices in the market has not only affected production efficiency, but also put great pressure on management and operation.

Mr. Tuan said that in the coming time, the company needs to closely coordinate with local authorities to effectively carry out compensation and site clearance work, especially in propaganda and mobilization work, ensuring land recovery progress and compliance with regulations.

Recognizing that in the coming time, compensation, site clearance and resettlement will still face many difficulties and complications. To complete the production and business plan for 2025, the company is implementing specific groups of solutions.

In the first quarter of 2025, DNA strives to achieve 185,000 tons of converted alumina or more.

The company will closely coordinate with the locality to speed up the construction of resettlement areas on land where mine closure work has been completed, to soon arrange resettlement for people.

At the same time, handle people's petitions thoroughly, clearly, and to the final result in accordance with the provisions of the law. From there, create consensus among the people and harmonize the interests between people in the project area and businesses.

The company continues to strengthen human resource training. This is considered the key to all problems. Therefore, the company will focus on training and developing the workforce who are currently directly involved in compensation and site clearance. Thereby, gradually building a workforce of "lean and efficient human resources".

DNA Director Nguyen Ba Phong said that with the spirit of "Discipline and unity", the staff, workers and employees are determined to strive for an equivalent alumina output of 185,000 tons or more in the first quarter of 2025.

Alumina output consumed in the quarter reached 175,000 tons or more, contributing to the completion of the 2025 operating plan target assigned by TKV.

The company proactively develops long-term plans for compensation and site clearance, submits them to competent authorities for approval, and ensures that there is always a stable reserve area for production.

In particular, in the first quarter of 2025, the company will coordinate with the locality to strive for the area of clean land to be handed over for exploitation to reach 18 hectares or more.
