Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung chaired the Conference; representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, mass organizations, a number of provincial and municipal Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, news agencies, press and all cadres, civil servants and employees of the Central External Relations Commission attended the Conference.
The report and presentations at the Conference emphasized that in 2023, peace, cooperation and development will remain the major trend, but the world will also face many new difficulties and challenges, with multi-dimensional impacts on the security and development of countries. In that context, foreign affairs have played a pioneering role in maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, mobilizing external resources for development, and enhancing the country's prestige and position.
Foreign affairs agencies have thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution No. 34-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Some major orientations and policies to implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress" (Resolution No. 34) and resolutions, directives and conclusions on economic diplomacy and international integration in the fields of defense, security and economy; actively advised on policies to strengthen relations with important partners and handle complicated and emerging issues.
Foreign affairs activities of senior leaders, departments, ministries, branches and localities are proactively, effectively, richly, comprehensively, with focus and key points. The coordination between the three pillars: party foreign affairs, state diplomacy, people's diplomacy and the implementation of foreign affairs fields are proactively, positively, promptly and highly effectively implemented.
Contributing to the overall results of foreign affairs, in 2023, the Central Foreign Affairs Commission proactively and actively implemented all aspects of work, creating many new changes and achieving many very practical and meaningful results. Notably, the work of research, consulting, strategic forecasting, and appraisal of strategic issues was focused on and raised to a higher level.
Foreign affairs activities on the Party channel are implemented flexibly, synchronously and effectively, especially foreign affairs activities of key leaders and senior leaders. The unified management of foreign affairs activities, foreign information work and direction and guidance of people's foreign affairs activities are focused on synchronously, effectively and practically.

Praising the achievements of foreign affairs work in 2023, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai emphasized that under the leadership of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, foreign affairs work in 2023 was proactively, actively, and promptly implemented, achieving important results of historical significance, which are bright spots in the country's overall achievements.
The foreign affairs activities of senior leaders have achieved many important and great results, creating many breakthroughs, enhancing political trust with partners. The three pillars of foreign affairs have coordinated synchronously, comprehensively, closely, effectively, closely following the foreign affairs policy of the 13th National Party Congress and related resolutions, creating a combined strength on the foreign affairs front, contributing significantly to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, mobilizing external resources, especially opening up new strategic opportunities to successfully implement the strategic goals of national development set forth by the 13th National Party Congress. In particular, the Party's foreign affairs have played the role of a political foundation, ensuring the Party's leadership in the field of foreign affairs.
Emphasizing that the country's innovation is entering a new, higher stage of development, with more important tasks in the context of the world and regional situation forecast to continue to have many complicated developments, the Standing Secretariat suggested that in the coming time, foreign affairs agencies need to closely follow and effectively implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution No. 34 of the Politburo and related directive documents.
Pay special attention to research and strategic consulting work to meet high requirements in the new situation; promote the effective and practical implementation of agreements reached with partners; strengthen coordination and cohesion between the three pillars of foreign affairs, promote the role, position and tasks of each pillar; closely and synchronously link foreign affairs with national defense, security, economy and other fields; ensure the unified and absolute leadership of the Party and the centralized management of the State over foreign affairs.
The Standing Secretariat commended and appreciated the efforts of the core foreign affairs agencies, in which the Central Foreign Affairs Commission has made many great and important contributions to the overall results of foreign affairs work; believed that the entire team of cadres working in foreign affairs and diplomacy will continue to promote the glorious tradition of the nation, achieving even greater achievements in the country's foreign affairs career.
Receiving the comprehensive direction of the Standing Secretariat, at the Conference, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung emphasized that agencies and officials working in foreign affairs will promote the achieved results, strive to overcome difficulties, pay more attention to coordination work, promote the pioneering role of foreign affairs, and contribute to the implementation of the strategic goals set forth by the 13th National Party Congress.
