The only representative of Vietnam at AI Action Summit
enfarm, a pioneer in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to measure and advise farmers on soil nutrition, has just been selected from nearly 800 global projects to introduce at the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence, taking place in Paris, France from February 10-11, 2025.
This prestigious event, organized by the French government, brings together national leaders, CEOs of major corporations, leading scholars, and representatives of civil society around the world to discuss sustainable AI development directions, creating useful solutions for society and the environment.
Mr. Nguyen Do Dung, CEO of enfarm, introduced the technology to Mr. Justin Vaïsse, founder and General Director of Paris Peace Forum. |
enfarm’s groundbreaking technology will be showcased at the Grand Palais, the famous national exhibition center located on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, where enfarm will have the opportunity to present its solutions to hundreds of delegates and policy makers from around the world.
Among nearly 800 projects, enfarm is one of four representatives from Asia and the only representative from Vietnam. This is a testament to the innovative capacity of Vietnamese engineers in developing technologies capable of solving global challenges.
Breakthrough in sustainable agriculture with enfarm's solution
One of the biggest problems in the agricultural industry that enfarm is focusing on solving is that every year more than 60% of fertilizer is not absorbed by crops, causing a waste of 120 billion USD, degrading one-third of the global arable land area, and contributing 5% to greenhouse gas emissions.
By combining soil sensor data and a smart phone app, enfarm uses machine learning to optimize the accuracy of low-cost sensors and provide effective recommendations to farmers. Trials on coffee farms in Dak Lak showed that this technology increased crop yields by up to 30% and reduced fertilizer use by 30%.
Dr. Ho Long Phi, co-founder of enfarm, former member of the National Advisory Council on Climate Change, orients enfarm to become a revolutionary solution in transforming agriculture towards low emissions but still ensuring high productivity to meet the 70% increase in food demand by 2050 - a challenge predicted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Vision and future direction
According to Mr. Nguyen Do Dung, Co-founder and CEO of enfarm, climate change is making traditional farming methods obsolete, typically the low fruit set rate in the West or the unripe durian in the Central Highlands.
In that context, enfarm offers the opportunity to accompany farmers to not only improve productivity but also increase income, contributing to sustainable agricultural development.
Currently, the company is focusing on building a large database of soil, fertilizer and crops, aiming for new breakthroughs by 2025 to completely change the way agriculture is produced.
With advanced technology platform, enfarm aims to expand its market to ASEAN countries in 2025, taking advantage of opportunities from the increase in agricultural product value, climate change challenges and the need to ensure food security in the region.
