This morning, May 26, candidates took the first exam of the first round of the specialized competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

Master Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, said that 529 candidates took the math exam (the percentage of candidates taking the exam reached nearly 94% of the total registered candidates).

In this exam, candidates take the test on a computer for 90 minutes. The test includes multiple choice questions and short answer questions. Candidates calculate and fill in the results in the answer section on the system.

According to Master Trung, the first exam took place safely and seriously. Three candidates forgot to bring their identification documents, so the examination board required them to take fingerprints, take photos, and sign a commitment before taking the exam.

"Immediately after the exam ends, the computer system will confirm the test results of the candidates. The school will review, organize the grading and is expected to announce the test results on May 31, 2 days after the end of the exam," Master Trung informed.

After the math exam, this afternoon (May 26), candidates will take chemistry and English exams.

Tomorrow (May 27), candidates will take the Biology and Literature exams in the morning; Physics and English in the afternoon. On the morning of May 28, candidates will take the Math and English exams.

In 2023, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education will organize a specialized competency assessment exam in 6 subjects: mathematics; physics, chemistry, biology, literature and English.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education reserves 30% of its quota for many majors to consider the results of specialized competency assessment exams combined with high school academic results.

The admission score includes the total score of the specialized competency assessment test (multiplied by a coefficient of 2) plus the average score of 6 high school semesters of the remaining 2 subjects in the admission combination.

This total score is converted to a 30-point scale and added with priority points for subjects and regions according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, rounded to two decimal places. In particular, for the specialized competency assessment test score, candidates can use the exam score organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in 2022, 2023 or Hanoi University of Education in 2023 (converted to a 10-point scale).
