Police warn cars against crossing Trung Ha bridge connecting Hanoi - Phu Tho

On the evening of September 2, Phu Tho Provincial Police announced that Trung Ha Bridge (km64+639, National Highway 32) connecting Ba Vi District (Hanoi) with Tam Nong District (Phu Tho) is undergoing road surface repair, with only one lane of traffic passing through the bridge.

Police said that the repair of Trung Ha bridge could easily cause traffic jams during times of high traffic volume.

Therefore, Phu Tho Provincial Police recommends and guides people who need to travel from Phu Tho or through Phu Tho province to Hanoi to choose the following routes:

Route 1: National Highway 32 (Tam Nong district) through Phong Chau bridge → go to National Highway 32C (avoiding Viet Tri city, Phu Tho) or go to National Highway 2D → go to Van Lang bridge → go to Ba Vi district, Hanoi. Vehicles from Hanoi to Phu Tho province go in the opposite direction.

Second route: National Highway 32 (Tam Nong district) → take provincial road 317G → take provincial road 317E → go to Dong Quang bridge → go to Ba Vi district, Hanoi. Vehicles from Hanoi to Phu Tho go in the opposite direction.

In addition, vehicles from Phu Tho to Hanoi and vice versa can take the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway or National Highway 2.

Trung Ha Bridge is a concrete bridge spanning the lower Da River; construction began in November 1999 and was inaugurated in April 2002.

Trung Ha Bridge is 743.6 m long, has 14 spans, 11 m wide, permanent bridge structure made of prestressed reinforced concrete; clear span is 90 m wide, 7 m high.

The image of Trung Ha bridge piers with exposed steel and many broken concrete blocks was reported by Dan Tri in January this year, attracting public attention. At both ends of Trung Ha bridge, signs are posted prohibiting trucks with 3 axles or more and passenger vans with more than 29 seats from crossing the bridge.

The Department of Transport of Phu Tho province has issued instructions on traffic flow from Phu Tho province to Hanoi and vice versa.
