Lucky person in Massachusetts on Valentine's Day
MASSACHUSETTS STATE LOTTERY
People magazine reported on February 15 that Mr. Broadley won the Massachusetts state lottery with a Valentine's gift from his mother.
Mr. Broadley brought a Valentine's card with him when he claimed his prize at the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester on February 14.
"Thank you, Mum," Mr Broadley said, unable to hide his joy as he received the prize, adding that he received a total of two scratch-off tickets from his mother.
Mr Broadley said he scratched two lottery tickets at around 11pm on February 13 and was shocked to find fortune knocking on his door.
The lottery said the $1 million ticket was sold at the Lakeview General store in Tyngsborough, and the store will be awarded $10,000 for it.
Although the prize was worth up to $1 million, Mr. Broadley decided to take the prize in one lump sum, and the actual amount received was $650,000 before taxes.
Last fall, the Massachusetts state lottery also recorded a rare winning case.
Accordingly, a man named Khalil Soussa won 1 million USD after his housekeeper found a lottery ticket he had forgotten in a vase for months.
