The French Development Agency (AFD) in Vietnam works with the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee

Mr. Hervé Connan, Director of AFD in Vietnam, spoke at the meeting.

At the working session, the AFD delegation presented the conclusions of the meetings on the content and images to be displayed on the signs; the progress of design, construction and installation of the signs; determining the next steps and schedule for installation work before May 2024; implementing the Project "Multi-disaster management of the Nam Rom River Basin to protect people's lives, adapt to climate change and develop the socio-economy of Dien Bien province" with ODA capital from AFD.

Based on the working group's introduction of the design plan for signs, columns, panels, sizes, and colors, relevant agencies and units of Dien Bien province and the AFD working group agreed on the following: Materials (stainless steel ensures durability in natural outdoor conditions); signboard design: It is expected to design a vertical column with a height of 250cm, with boards displaying content mounted on the column; the column has the names of the main titles of the information board, showing serial numbers and colors to facilitate visitors' identification during the visit.

Comrade Lo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee worked with the delegation.

Dien Bien Province requests AFD to provide information on the specific size and materials of the sign system and tourist route signs; coordinate with relevant units to conduct surveys and determine the specific locations of signboards and tourist route signs as a basis for the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue to complete the content and seek opinions from the provincial authorities, ensuring that the next steps are carried out in accordance with legal regulations. Request to provide content related to communication tools: Booklets, publications, brochures (content, images, size, materials) for the province to participate before implementation; supplement documents related to the content on the information board; information on additional photo sources expected to be printed on the sign system and tourist route signs (photos not provided by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism). In addition, provide information about the translator of information content on signs and instruction boards to have a contact point for exchanging translated content from Vietnamese to French, Vietnamese to English and French to Vietnamese; translated content from Vietnamese to French, English on signs and information boards for historical tours; appraisal products of translation agencies licensed by competent authorities of Vietnam.
