(Dan Tri) - Musician Nguyen Van Chung has just spoken out on his personal page regarding the incident in which a kindergarten teacher was "hit with a copyright stick" for using his music in 3 art clips at school.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, musician Nguyen Van Chung said this was not the first time a teacher had contacted him to ask for "copyright stick removal". Teachers using his music and having their YouTube accounts deleted had happened many times. Therefore, this time the musician decided to speak up on his personal page to clarify the issue.

"My works include children's music, family music, and national music. I allow schools, teachers, and students to use them completely free of charge for educational purposes, performances, and art competitions...

My authorized partners and I do not collect song royalties or exploit copyright management in these educational activities," musician Nguyen Van Chung affirmed.

The musician explained that the "copyright strike" incident happened due to the automatic mechanisms and strict laws on copyright exploitation and management from Youtube, and was not at all intentional by him and his team.

"Please understand and sympathize that this was not Chung's intention. And if such a situation occurs, please do not hesitate to inbox or email Chung and Chung's assistant for support as soon as possible!

Please share this information widely with teachers and schools!", musician Nguyen Van Chung announced on his personal page.

The author of Mother's Diary shared that he received a letter titled "Urgent request to remove copyright stick" from teacher Pham Giang Truong An.

According to the information in the email, the teacher said her account was deleted because she used 3 songs by Nguyen Van Chung to choreograph a dance performance for students at school: "Today is a new age", "Mother brings spring back", "Thank you, Uncle Soldier".

The teacher regretted that her personal Youtube channel stored many clips of her teaching process as well as memories with her students. Therefore, she sent a letter asking musician Nguyen Van Chung to withdraw the complaint and restore the channel.

Yesterday, musician Nguyen Van Chung's team worked with relevant units including the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection (VCPMC) and BELIEVE - a unit that exploits digital music storage on a digital platform.

However, the cause of the incident did not lie with these two units but with another copyright exploitation unit that did not sign a cooperation agreement with musician Nguyen Van Chung.

After a day of working with all parties, teacher Pham Giang Truong An's YouTube account was restored.

Talking about the reason for copyright exemption for all schools, teachers and students, musician Nguyen Van Chung said he wants teachers to have a repository of documents to teach music in schools.

Because he often receives messages from teachers regarding copyright issues, musician Nguyen Van Chung spent nearly 1 billion to build the project "Singing with your children" .

In this project, the musician hired a vocal teacher to teach 300 children's songs on various topics and broadcast them on the Youtube channel "300 Children's Songs". The entire clip library is free.

"Teaching and learning music in schools, especially in remote areas, islands, and borders, faces many difficulties.

With this project, I hope to contribute to help teachers fulfill their duties and instill a love of music in children right from school," musician Nguyen Van Chung shared.

The musician added that for a long time, children's music has not received much attention from musicians, there are few new compositions, and few people invest in making quality children's music. He hopes that this music field will have many people joining hands to create change, prosperity, and serve the aesthetic education of students.
