BAC GIANG - On the one kilometer road to the bride's house, Bao Ngoc hired people to set up miniature scenes recreating Hoan Kiem Lake, Hang Than, Hang Ma, and Phan Dinh Phung streets for her engagement ceremony on September 30.
At exactly 9am, the groom's party from Hanoi arrived in Bac Giang City with 11 trays of gifts, transferred to a cyclo to go to the bride Bao Ngoc's house (27 years old), about one kilometer from the starting point.

To help both families understand each other's culture, the bride Bao Ngoc had previously set up a scene of old Hanoi on the way from the groom's house to her house, such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Hang Ma Street, Hang Than Street, and Phan Dinh Phung Street.
After 10 minutes, the groom's party arrived at the bride's gate, the quan ho melodies "Inviting water - inviting betel" and "Guests come to play at home" rang out. Outside, the artisans started making to he figurines, the banh com stalls were bustling, inviting guests to come and eat, and the flower car carrying Hanoi's autumn also attracted many people to check in.
"I want to bring the cultural space of Hanoi to my hometown Bac Giang to recreate the old streets that marked our love," Bao Ngoc said. The engagement ceremony was organized to blend the cultures of Hanoi and Bac Giang, making the bride and groom happy when encountering familiar scenes.

Talking about the idea of organizing the engagement ceremony, Bao Ngoc said that she had previously graduated from the Event Director major, so she wanted to come up with the content for her big day. Regarding the decoration, in addition to the miniature scenes simulating Hanoi's old quarter on the street, the reception booth was built with the highlight being the conical hat, the female attendants welcoming guests with betel boxes with phoenix wings and singing Quan Ho, the backdrop was the Dong Ho folk painting "Mouse Wedding" with 3D carved animals on foam.
Bao Ngoc said that instead of having the bride and groom's names printed on the background like other couples, she wanted the couple and their relatives to stand here to interact, both to display and introduce the beauty of Kinh Bac's traditional culture and to show everyone a grand wedding of the bride born in the year of the rat.
At the end of the engagement ceremony, the groom's family sang the song "Farewell" to see them off.

Bao Ngoc said that she and her husband paid for the entire engagement ceremony themselves. The large cost was due to the elaborate design details such as hiring an artisan in Ho Chi Minh City to arrange the flowers and an artisan in Hang Than, Hanoi to design the tray containing the gifts.
The bride shared that she might have a Western-style wedding in her upcoming wedding. "Both my husband and I are trying to earn money to be able to organize the engagement and wedding ceremony in a neat, meticulous and impressive way. This also shows that he and I both respect and want each other," Ngoc said.
