Hanoi FC signed a one-year contract with central defender Kyle Colonna, who is 1.88 m tall, as an overseas Vietnamese player.
In the 2024-2025 season, Vietnamese football will have a big change when the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) allows each club competing in the V-League to use a maximum of 2 overseas Vietnamese players, thereby continuing to prioritize and create conditions for these players to return to Vietnam to compete.
Hanoi FC took advantage of the opportunity to complete the contract with Kyle Colonna. The central defender, born in 1999, has a Vietnamese mother and an American father. His family created conditions for him to pursue a football career from a young age.

"My mother told me about Vietnam when I was a child and she often cooked traditional Vietnamese dishes for me. I always dreamed of returning here one day. Now, I have realized that dream and more. I will give my all and work with the team to reach the top position in the 2024 - 2025 season," Kyle Colonna shared.
Hanoi FC finished third in both the V-League and the National Cup last season. The capital's representative has gone two years without a title.
