Hanoi Club has another chance with coach Nhat
On the morning of February 17, Hanoi FC announced the contract with coach Makoto Teguramori. The Japanese coach will take charge of the capital team in the second leg of the 2024-2025 V-League, starting this weekend.
Coach Teguramori will be the second Japanese coach to work at Hanoi FC, after Mr. Daiki Iwamasa, who coached the capital team in the second leg of last season.
Unlike his compatriot Iwamasa, Mr. Teguramori has never coached a famous team in the J-League, but has experience coaching at the Japanese U.23 level, with the peak being the 2016 U.23 Asian Championship (coming from behind to beat U.23 Korea of coach Shin Tae-yong with a score of 3-2).
Coach Teguramori leads Hanoi Club
In 2017-2018, Mr. Teguramori was chosen as assistant coach to coach Akira Nishino in the Japanese national team. When Mr. Nishino's short term ended, Mr. Teguramori also returned to the J-League, before having a short adventure in Thailand as "captain" of BG Pathum (2022, 2023 - 2024) and Chonburi (2023), winning 2 titles in 2 years.
Coach Teguramori is the third coach to take the "hot seat" at Hanoi FC this season, after Mr. Le Duc Tuan and Hoang Van Phuc. The appointment of Mr. Teguramori also marks the 10th coach change in just the past 5 years for Hanoi FC.
There have been foreign coaches who came and went quickly such as Bozidar Bandovic, Park Choong-kyun, Chun Jae-ho, Daiki Iwamasa, alongside domestic coaches from official to temporary positions such as Le Duc Tuan, Hoang Van Phuc.

Mr. Teguramori appeared in the introduction video of Hanoi Club.
After 13 matches in the V-League, Hanoi FC has 20 points, temporarily ranked 4th. The capital representative stopped at the National Cup after losing to Dong Thap on penalties in the round of 16 (0-0 draw in 90 minutes), so only V-League remains to strive for.
Coach Teguramori’s debut match took place on February 21 at Pleiku Stadium, between Hanoi FC and HAGL. In the first leg against HAGL, Hanoi lost 0-1.
