Transfer to the Ministry of National Defense Investigation Agency to handle land violations at Nha Trang airport

On October 2, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee issued a document informing the results of the 4th meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity.

The Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity of Khanh Hoa province has agreed to end monitoring and directing the case of violations in the allocation of land in Nha Trang airport area to pay for BT projects in the area due to the completion of settlement according to regulations.

Following the direction of the province, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department has investigated and collected all documents related to the above case. After reviewing the documents and case files, the specialized agencies and leaders of the province found that the case of land violations at Nha Trang airport was under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of National Defense, so they transferred it to this agency to handle and resolve according to its authority. Therefore, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity has just finished monitoring and directing.

However, the handling of land violations at Nha Trang airport is still being monitored and directed by the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity, and received and resolved by the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Ministry of National Defense.

Regarding the above incident, at the end of June 2021, the Government Inspectorate announced its conclusion on compliance with legal regulations in construction investment management for 6 BT projects using land funds for payment in the Nha Trang airport area.

The Government Inspectorate pointed out violations here, such as: BT projects were not completed and put into operation by the end of 2017. Although the deadline was extended to June 2021, in reality, by the time of inspection, only about 27% of the construction volume had been completed. Failure to properly implement the criteria for urgent projects to be eligible for the form of selecting investors in special cases as prescribed in Article 26 of the Law on Bidding.
