Program to share survey results on tourism status of Lao Cai province

On the afternoon of May 8, the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and the Project Management Consultant GREAT 2 (Project to promote gender equality through improving the economic efficiency of agricultural production and tourism development in Lao Cai province) coordinated with the Department of Tourism to organize a program to share the results of a survey on the current tourism situation in Lao Cai province.

Attending the program were representatives of the Department of Tourism, Department of Planning and Investment, ODA Project Management Board and Provincial Construction Investment, Provincial Tourism Information and Promotion Center, Provincial Tourism Association; representatives of the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, the GREAT 2 Project Management Consultant contractor, state agencies managing tourism; hotels, travel agencies, homestay owners, and potential tourism partners.

At the program, the representative of the GREAT 2 Project Management Consultant presented a summary of the main findings through a survey of the current tourism situation in Lao Cai province; an overview of the GREAT 2 Project's plan in the tourism sector. In the presentations, the representative pointed out opportunities and challenges, thereby drawing lessons and experiences for the development of tourism in Lao Cai.

Delegates attending the program participated in Q&A and discussed the current tourism situation in Lao Cai province, focusing mainly on issues such as: expanding cultural tourism opportunities, developing local infrastructure, protecting the environment, service quality and accommodation, enhancing digital marketing, etc.
