DNVN - KB Securities Company (KBS), together with the Korean Red Cross Society and the Vietnam Red Cross Society, has cooperated to implement the Rainbow 2025 project with a total sponsorship value of up to 150,000,000 won (equivalent to 2.5 billion VND).
"Rainbow" is one of the ESG (environmental - social - corporate governance) projects, an annual focus of KB Securities, which started in Vietnam in 2020. Previously, the project focused on improving the learning and living environment for children in areas with difficult educational environments. 2025 will be the first year that the Rainbow project will plant trees to prevent natural disasters and restore the environment. This is a meaningful project after witnessing the serious damage to Vietnam from Typhoon Yagi.
After careful research and survey with the Korean Red Cross Society as well as the Vietnam Red Cross Society, KBS chose Tan Kim Primary School in Phu Binh District, Thai Nguyen Province as the location to implement the "Rainbow Classroom" project in 2025. This school is located in a mountainous area, the children's daily journey to school is difficult, the facilities are lacking and seriously degraded, many classrooms were built in 1995, the quality does not even meet the regulations of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and are not properly maintained.
With the desire to improve the educational environment and ensure the “right to play” for children, KB Securities has supported Tan Kim Primary School to renovate the multi-purpose hall and old classrooms, buy new desks and chairs for teachers and students, and sponsor information technology equipment such as projectors, computers, and televisions. In addition, KBS also prepared friendly gifts including sports equipment and 100 books and stories for students at the school.
A new feature of this year’s Rainbow Project is that KB Securities is joining hands for the first time in forest conservation and planting activities in Vietnam. “Rainbow Forest” aims to respond to natural disaster risks caused by climate change. Accordingly, 200,000 new trees will be planted in mangrove forests in disaster-prone or heavily affected areas. The project will be implemented and continuously cared for in the coming years.
