The delegation visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of My Long Border Guard Station, and presented gifts to ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances in My Long commune, Cau Ngang district, Tra Vinh province. Here, the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation listened to Ms. Thach Thu Ha, Secretary of Cau Ngang District Party Committee and Major Nguyen Hoang Sa, Head of My Long Border Guard Station, report on some outstanding results in implementing the tasks of socio-economic development, maintaining security and order, and combat readiness.
According to the report, Cau Ngang district has achieved and exceeded 29/29 targets, budget revenue reached nearly 984 billion VND; average income per capita was 82.84 million VND. Investment and construction of infrastructure created favorable conditions to attract investment, promote socio-economic development, improve people's lives. Social security programs were well implemented, supporting the construction of 325 houses for the disadvantaged with a total amount of 16.25 billion VND...
My Long Border Guard Station is the unit that manages the 12 km long coastline. The unit successfully implemented the goals and tasks of the year; synchronously deployed border work measures, always ready to fight, not being passive. Maintained good relations with localities in border management and protection; ensured political security, social order and safety; prevented and combated smuggling and trade fraud. On behalf of the Party, State and Working Group leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man praised the outstanding achievements of the entire political system, army and people of Cau Ngang district as well as My Long Border Guard Station. “The officers and soldiers need to promote the achievements of 2024 and uphold the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers to heighten their vigilance in the current context. Tra Vinh is home to many ethnic minorities, so we should not let hostile forces take advantage of it to sabotage the spirit of great national unity; focus on building a strong force…” The National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
Continuing his working trip to Tra Vinh province, on the occasion of preparing for the Lunar New Year, Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the Central Working Delegation presented Tet gifts to policy families, poor households, near-poor households, ethnic minorities, workers and laborers in difficult circumstances in Tra Vinh city at the Tra Vinh Provincial Convention Center.
Reporting to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Deputy Secretary of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Dang said that in 2024, despite many difficulties, Tra Vinh province has achieved many positive results. The province has 26/27 main targets achieved and exceeded the set plan; the economic scale reached 96,622 billion VND; per capita income reached 94,368 million VND (3,671 USD). Domestic revenue reached 6,530 billion VND; agricultural production, industrial production, tourists, export turnover... all exceeded the plan and increased compared to the same period. The province completed the task of building new rural areas 1 year ahead of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress. Cultural and social activities have many positive changes; the quality of education and training has been improved.
The work of Party building and political system building continues to be consolidated and enhanced; focusing on completing the summary of the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Executive Committee "some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently". The work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity is focused on leadership and direction, creating consensus among Party committees and authorities, and the support of cadres, Party members and the People.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent his regards and best wishes for the New Year to the Party Committee, government and people of Tra Vinh province, and at the same time, informed the people of the outstanding results in the country's socio-economic development in 2024. The National Assembly Chairman congratulated and commended the very encouraging results of Tra Vinh province in 2024, especially in the context of many difficulties and challenges in the domestic and international situation, thereby contributing positively to the overall achievements of the country. In particular, the province's GRDP growth ranked 8th in the country and was the top in the Mekong Delta region at 10.04%. Along with economic development, social security work, care for policy beneficiaries, meritorious people, and social protection beneficiaries of the province also achieved many positive results.
Despite difficulties, Tra Vinh is very interested in promoting education, training, healthcare, and public health care; the poverty rate has decreased to 0.87% - lower than the national average (1.93%) - a great effort.
Appreciating the goals and targets set by Tra Vinh province for 2025, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized, “The top priority is to strive for double-digit growth. In 2024, Tra Vinh's GRDP growth rate reached 10.04%, so this year we must strive to increase it to 12-13%, maintain this momentum, complete the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress, complete the province's 5-year socio-economic plan 2020-2025, prepare for Party Congresses at all levels, and move towards the Provincial Party Congress”.
The Party committees and authorities of Tra Vinh province should invest more strongly in education and training, improve people's knowledge and improve the educational level of children, especially children of ethnic minorities. The National Assembly Chairman also requested Tra Vinh province to pay more attention to effectively implementing the National Target Programs on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction and the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; ensuring political security and social order and safety.
On the occasion of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of At Ty, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, the National Assembly Chairman wished the Party Committee, the government and the people of Tra Vinh province a healthy, happy and successful new year, a new year of new victories. Here, the National Assembly Chairman and members of the delegation presented Tet gifts to 90 policy households, poor households, near-poor households, and people in difficult circumstances; 100 workers and laborers in difficult circumstances; 10 ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances in Tra Vinh city.
Also during this working trip, the National Assembly Chairman and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to the family of Mr. Son Van Duoc, a prestigious person in the ethnic minority community of Tra Vinh City.
