National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attends the 15th session of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Council

Also attending the session were delegates: Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong; Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh; Chairman of the National Assembly's Culture and Education Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh; Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee Le Quang Manh; Head of the Delegation Work Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai.

On the side of Binh Phuoc province, there were Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee, along with National Assembly deputies, provincial People's Council deputies, representatives of departments, branches and localities.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Ms. Huynh Thi Hang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Binh Phuoc province, said that from the beginning of 2024, the entire political system, authorities at all levels, people and the business community have made efforts, determined and persistently implemented the goals and tasks of the 2024 plan and the 5-year plan 2021-2025.

Binh Phuoc province has promptly implemented the Resolution of the National Assembly and the Government on key tasks and solutions to implement the Socio-Economic Development Plan and the State budget estimate for 2024, contributing to the province's economy overcoming difficulties and challenges and achieving important results such as: Economic growth, industrial production growth continued to maintain at a high level; trade, service and export activities increased sharply compared to the same period last year; business development and cooperative development received attention and had many improvements.

The Provincial People's Council meeting took place right after the National Assembly passed a Resolution on the investment policy for the North-South Expressway construction project in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section - a key expressway, creating new space and development momentum for the Central Highlands and the Southeast region.

Binh Phuoc province has focused on directing the preparation for investment in two expressway projects through the province, of which the Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) expressway project has just been approved by the National Assembly at the 7th session.

The cultural and social fields achieved many positive results, social security work was focused on, people's lives were improved; activities to care for policy beneficiaries, the poor, and workers were implemented promptly and effectively.

National defense and security are maintained; social order and safety are ensured; good friendly and cooperative relations with provinces sharing borders in the Kingdom of Cambodia and cooperation with a number of provinces in the Lao People's Democratic Republic are maintained.

Besides, there are some issues that need to be focused on to remove difficulties and obstacles that this session needs to discuss thoroughly and propose synchronous and effective solutions for implementation.

Ms. Huynh Thi Hang suggested that the delegates of the People's Council of Binh Phuoc province promote a high sense of responsibility, concentration, democracy, actively promote intelligence, contribute profound, quality and practical opinions, help the Provincial People's Council to propose resolutions that are close to and appropriate to the actual situation of the locality, ensure the successful implementation of the tasks set out in 2024, contribute to the success of the session, and meet the expectations of the people.

At the 15th Session, the People's Council of Binh Phuoc province will consider and decide on many important issues, such as: Reviewing and discussing reports on the results of the first 6 months of the year, the work program for the last 6 months of 2024 of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Council's committees, the People's Committee, the People's Court, the People's Procuracy and the Provincial Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency;

Review reports of the Standing Committee of the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Council on the results of implementing the supervision program of the Provincial People's Council in 2023; summarize opinions and recommendations of voters before the session; summarize opinions of Provincial People's Council delegates at the meeting of the delegation group before the session; report on summarizing the thematic supervision contents in 2022 and 2023 and explain the contents that have not been included in the draft resolution on the supervision program of the Provincial People's Council in 2025.

At the same time, review and discuss reports of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province on the results of socio-economic performance in the first 6 months of the year; directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024; implementation of state budget revenue and expenditure in the first 6 months of 2024; work on preventing and combating corruption, practicing thrift, combating waste; preventing and combating crimes and violations of the law; handling complaints and denunciations in the first 6 months of 2024; results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations; issues promised, received and recorded at the 12th session and receiving and explaining opinions of delegates of the People's Council of Binh Phuoc province before the session.

In addition, the session will decide on many issues related to ensuring socio-economic development, national defense and security of the locality under its authority based on reviewing reports and 12 draft resolutions submitted by the Standing Committee of the People's Council and People's Committee at the session.

The meeting will conduct a question-and-answer session with a number of members of the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee on issues of interest to delegates and voters; and elect members of the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
