President Vo Van Thuong received the Ambassadors of Venezuela and Laos presenting their credentials.

On the afternoon of November 8, at the Presidential Palace,President Vo Van Thuong received the Ambassadors of Venezuela and Laos presenting their credentials.

Receiving Venezuelan Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated the Ambassador on his assignment in Vietnam; believing that during the Ambassador's term, the Vietnam-Venezuela cooperation relationship will achieve many new achievements. The President affirmed that relevant Vietnamese agencies will actively support the Ambassador to fulfill his duties; contributing to promoting the relationship between the two countries.

Venezuelan Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez respectfully conveyed to the President the greetings of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the Venezuelan people; stating that the Venezuelan people always admire the Vietnamese people both in the past struggle for national unification as well as in the current national construction and development. Stating that Vietnam and Venezuela have a traditional, friendly and close relationship, the Venezuelan Ambassador expressed his belief that the relationship between the two countries will develop even better in the future.

The Venezuelan Ambassador said that many delegations of Vietnamese ministries, sectors and enterprises have visited Venezuela to seek cooperation and investment opportunities, especially in the energy sector. The Ambassador believes that the two sides will strongly promote cooperation in this field.

Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez agreed with the need to further enhance bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela; and believed that the Intergovernmental Committee of the two countries will actively coordinate and effectively implement measures to promote cooperation with Vietnam, especially in trade, aviation connectivity, healthcare , technology, etc.

President Vo Van Thuong recalled the events marking the traditional friendship and close friendship between the people of Vietnam and Venezuela in history; he said that the two countries have many things in common, which are important premises for the comprehensive partnership between the two countries to develop more strongly and achieve more comprehensive results in the future.

In that spirit, the President suggested that the two sides increase contacts and exchanges of high-level delegations and at all levels; expressed hope that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro will soon visit Vietnam. The two countries ' Intergovernmental Committee will soon implement measures to promote bilateral cooperation; especially to discuss and remove difficulties and obstacles, and promote cooperation activities, especially in the energy sector.

Recalling the good impressions of his previous visits to Venezuela, the President thanked and appreciated Venezuela for its warm and respectful reception of Vietnamese delegations visiting Venezuela. The President believed that during his term, Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez would strongly promote the cooperative relations between the State and people of Vietnam and Venezuela.

Receiving Lao Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated her on her appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam. The President believes that with her affection and close attachment to the country and people of Vietnam, Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh will excellently fulfill her duties; making an important contribution to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh expressed his honor to be appointed as Ambassador of Laos to Vietnam; thanked the President for taking the time to receive the letter of credence. The Ambassador respectfully conveyed to President Vo Van Thuong the regards and best wishes of Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, and through President Vo Van Thuong, the regards and best wishes of Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh affirmed that he will do his utmost to foster the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to develop more comprehensively and effectively in the future.

Thanking Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh for conveying the greetings of Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that the Vietnam-Laos relationship is truly a very special relationship with great friendship and solidarity founded, built and nurtured by the leaders of the two countries, becoming a priceless common asset of both peoples. Recalling the impressions of his visit to Laos in April 2023, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that through their actions, the two sides will strive to deepen the great friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples.

Considering that Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh assumed his duties at a special time, at the end of 2023, when many important events will be held in Vietnam and Laos, the President emphasized that 2024 has a very special significance for the Lao Government and people as the Chair of ASEAN/AIPA; and affirmed that relevant Vietnamese agencies will actively support and coordinate to help the Ambassador fulfill his duties well.
