Recently, many Chinese media reported the passing of Cao Yingying, wife of Nie Jianwen. Previously, the love story of the two had caused a stir in public opinion in this country for a long time.
Cao Doanh Doanh passed away at the age of 39, leaving behind two sons, aged 16 and 19. After taking care of his wife's funeral, Van returned to his old job as a long-distance truck driver. Now that the truck is empty and he is alone, Van bitterly admits that "his heart is broken by the loss of his wife".
In July 2022, a video of a truck driver putting his paralyzed wife in his car for convenient care attracted attention. The couple, from Longnan, Gansu Province, had been married for 20 years.
It is known that Ms. Doanh was paralyzed on one side due to a brain hemorrhage and could not take care of herself. Still having to earn money to support the family, Mr. Van decided to put his wife in the car and travel everywhere with him.
The truck is not only a "fishing rod" but also a mobile home. Inside the less than 3m2 compartment is where Van cooks daily meals for the couple. He does not hesitate to take care of and bathe his wife. In his free time, he carries his wife out of the truck and helps her walk to aid her recovery.
In the truck driver's memory, his wife was a cheerful and lively person. They were classmates in middle school. The first day he saw Doanh, Van liked his classmate and gradually developed feelings for her.
He came from a poor family and was of average appearance, but they still decided to stay together. In 2003, the couple got married and had two sons.
Van still regularly drives long-distance trucks and only comes home occasionally, while Doanh takes care of everything. When the children grew up, to earn more income, the two of them borrowed money to buy a truck to start their own business.
Everything seemed to be going well until suddenly in May 2020, Ms. Doanh suddenly fainted on the side of the road and was taken to the emergency room. Due to a brain hemorrhage, she had to undergo surgery.

After the major surgery, she lost feeling on the right side of her body from head to toe. At first, Ms. Doanh could not speak and needed constant care.
His wife's illness cost nearly 200,000 yuan in hospital bills. Van's mother was over 70 years old and could no longer take care of her bedridden daughter-in-law. If he continued to stay at home, he would have no money to take care of her. Faced with this situation, he decided to take his wife with him in the truck, so that he could both earn money and take care of her.
The couple's life in the truck continued like that. Until one day in July 2022, the couple's son posted a short video sharing a simple happy moment of his parents on his personal page. Unexpectedly, the clip became a trend and received public attention.
"Before, I was often away from home, and my wife was the one who took care of the house, keeping it clean and tidy. Now is the time when she needs me the most. When my wife is sick, of course I have the responsibility to take good care of her," said Mr. Van.
Their love story has inspired many people. Some benefactors have donated money to both of them, helping him pay off his old debts. Every day, Van continues to work hard to earn more money for his wife's medicine.

In response to the attention from the online community, Van also created a personal account called "Normal Man". This is where he posted many videos recording the daily moments of the couple. Many people called them "The Truck Couple".
It seemed that her simple life would continue, but at the end of January 2024, Ms. Doanh's illness relapsed. After only a few days in the hospital, she could not survive and died there.
"During 20 years of living together, Ms. Doanh received sincere love from a man that few people have. She must be very happy and hopes that her family will still live well even when she is no longer here," a Weibo account left a message of encouragement to Mr. Van.
