At Noi Bai airport, Minister Tran Hong Minh highly appreciated the preparations and efforts of aviation units to ensure safe and secure flights to serve passengers during Tet, and the application of information technology to help reduce flight delays and cancellations.

"Up to this moment, there are still over 200 flights both going and returning. The airport must ensure the safety of people returning home for Tet," the Minister directed and reminded airport leaders to continue reviewing passenger service plans after Tet because this is a stressful period when people return to study and work.

At the Southern Bus Station, the Minister asked passengers on the bus from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa. The Minister also directly surveyed passengers' opinions on the quality of service at the bus station and the ticket prices that the bus company charged during this time.

Reporting to the Minister, Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, said that during the peak days of serving Lunar New Year, the station has made efforts to strictly control the quality of services, ensuring that 100% of passengers arriving at the station have a bus. Up to this point, all bus routes have been served safely, effectively and efficiently. The bus station management unit has not received any complaints about overcrowding or illegal price increases.

According to Mr. Hung, from January 19 to 27, each day, the three bus stations Giap Bat, My Dinh, and Gia Lam operated more than 17,000 vehicles, equivalent to the same period in 2024. The number of passengers passing through the stations reached more than 187,000 passengers, 3-4 times higher than normal days. The total number of additional vehicles was 889 vehicles.

In particular, at Giap Bat bus station, the highest number of passengers reached more than 16,500/day with more than 850 buses/day. Passengers mainly concentrated on the routes: Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa.

At My Dinh bus station, the highest number of passengers reached more than 16,500 trips/day with 886 trips/day, mainly focusing on the routes: Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang.

At Gia Lam bus station, the highest number of passengers reached 3,600/day with 426 buses/day, mainly going to Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and Bac Giang routes.

"During the recent peak service days, the bus stations managed by the company did not allow overloading of vehicles, selling tickets at higher prices than the registered prices, ensuring that all passengers on the bus had tickets before departure, and that the operation of the station and vehicles was safe," Mr. Hung emphasized.

Appreciating the organization at the bus station, which has ensured order and cleanliness, without any price gouging, Minister Tran Hong Minh noted that the bus station management unit must continue to ensure safety and convenience for passengers as there are still a few trips left until the new year.

"After Tet, the number of passenger cars returning to the capital is expected to be very high, the bus station must coordinate with transport units to best serve the needs of the people," said the Minister, requesting that the bus station management unit apply information technology in management, operation, and ticket sales, creating attractiveness, safety, and many advantages for passengers to choose.

The Minister also noted that the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport should coordinate with the Departments of Transport of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and some localities where there are illegal buses, illegal stations and overloaded vehicles operating to strengthen inspection and handling of violations.
