Judging the Artistic Photography Contest with the theme "Beautiful Photos of Yen Bai Tourism" in 2024

(NADS) - On October 26, the Yen Bai Provincial Literature and Arts Association (VHNT) held the award ceremony for the 5th Art Photography Contest with the theme "Beautiful Photos of Yen Bai Tourism" in 2024.

The Artistic Photography Contest with the theme “Beautiful Photos of Yen Bai Tourism” was launched by the Yen Bai Provincial Association of Literature and Arts from May 11 to September 30, 2024 for all professional and amateur photographers at home and abroad. The contest is sponsored by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

The Photo Contest's Jury includes: journalist, People's Artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine, Head of the Jury; Painter Nguyen Dinh Thi, former President of the Yen Bai Province Literature and Arts Association, Deputy Head of the Jury; People's Artist Nguyen Duc Dieu, Head of the Organizing - Emulation - Membership Committee and People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Chinh, Deputy Head of the Composition - Exhibition Committee, Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, members of the Jury.

After nearly 5 months of launching, the Organizing Committee received 527 works (including 22 photo sets and 505 single photos) from 87 authors from 19 provinces and cities nationwide; in which Hanoi city and Yen Bai province are the two localities with the largest number of authors and works participating (Hanoi has 25 authors with 135 works participating, Yen Bai has 21 authors with 163 works participating). The localities with the least number of authors and works participating are Khanh Hoa province and Quang Ninh province, each province has only 1 author participating with 3 works participating.

The Artistic Photography Contest with the theme “Beautiful Photos of Yen Bai Tourism” is one of the practical activities to promote the beauty of natural landscapes, images of people with real life, unique cultural features of ethnic groups in Yen Bai province to people across the country and international friends. Through the contest, the Organizing Committee will select beautiful, high-quality photos to serve the propaganda and promotion of Yen Bai tourism as well as continue to promote the growing photography movement of the province.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Mai, Deputy Chief of Office, Executive Committee of Van Nghe Magazine, Yen Bai Province Literature and Arts Association, reported an overview of the situation of authors and works at the judging session of the 2024 Art Photography Contest.

At the end of the qualifying round with the previous online judging format, 268 works were selected for the Jury to judge directly to choose the works worthy of receiving the award.

With a professional, scientific and impartial working method, after 4 rounds of public judging, the Jury selected 82 works (6 photo sets and 76 single photos of good quality to display at the exhibition, of which 11 works (1 photo set and 10 single photos) were outstanding for awards.

The Art Photography Contest with the theme "Beautiful Photos of Yen Bai Tourism" in 2024 organized by the Yen Bai Provincial Literature and Arts Association took place as planned, ensuring quality and meeting the criteria of the contest.
